Virtually all netbooks come with built-in wifi (after all, that's what they are designed for or being marketed as: web browsing, checking emails etc.)

Another danger with these badly written spec sheets is that you could wind up being fobbed off with a 3-cell battery if you aren't very careful. That's how they get the prices low.

Be sure to buy one with a 6-cell battery: the shorter uptime of a 3-cell battery seriously limits the practicality of a netbook – especially when it's powering a wi-fi card.

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

  • To reiterate the above posts, i have an NC10 and it has wifi. Also ensure you get the 6 cell battery if battery life is important to you.

I've just bought one from ebuyer. wifi, bluetooth, 6 cell battery. Seems good so far, good keyboard as well. Loads cd's from the network, so does everything I want. Screen is a bit small, and the new version only has the 10.1" not the 10.2", but no real problem. (new version is NC10 KB02UK, not KA02UK apparently). Having said that, my daughter has just got the MSI version from Argos, in pink for less than £200, and it seems equally as good. Screen on that is slightly squarer, but no real difference.

I've just bought a refurbished N110 from PC World for £229.99. Comes with the 6 cell battery, glossy finish and an improved touchpad/keyboard compared to the NC10. 3% cashback tracked fine. They had white but now only have black in stock.

I'm a bit of a techie so don't mind refurbished stuff (my laptop is from the Dell outlet) and it comes with a 12 month warranty.

Will probably upgrade to 2GB of RAM but it's really to use in the caravan and whilst travelling. Battery life on my Dell is rubbish and I just need to be able to surf and webmail.
