    Hi.
This can happen with any meter as it is done when you charge up your key or how ever you pay for your gas or electric. You can press a button that will take you through how much you have paid, your meter reading and also you will find a section that will say debt keep checking this all the time I will be from now on.

    Hi.
Just a wee update for everyone. I got a cheque on Friday from Scottish Power for £61.54 £20.00 short. So guess what I had to call them again to ask what had happened to the £20.00 I was promised for all the phone calls I had made to them. I was told this cheque would be send from a different department not the refund department as this was a good will jesture on the part of Scottish Power. Why could this not have been written on the letter and saved me yet another phone call. I will wait with baited breathe for the other cheque to arrive. The £32.20 has been credited to my meter but the debt of £282 is still showing on the meter although there is no more money coming of to pay it. I will be a lot happier when the debt no longer shows and I will know this matter has be resolved finally.

Hi still not recieved the cheque for £20.00 for phone calls. I did email them this was their reply. (Email sent on Nov 21st replied Nov 26th.)

I can confirm that a goodwill payment was issued on 9 November by the complaint agent and you should be in receipt of this very soon.

I apologise but our refund accounting system requires us to issue a goodwill refund separately.

Please contact us on receipt of this email if you have not received the cheque in the next week.

    Have emailed again 6th Dec.
  • Hi just to let you all know I still have not recieved the cheque for £20.00 for the phone calls. I got a phone call on Saturday 12th Dec promising me it would be sorted and they would call me back on Monday the 14th Dec. I have never heard from them since.
  • As someone else has said you must always contact them in writing not phone or email becuase they often ignor these.
you could ask for repayment of your credit and have you checked that they are the cheapest supplier
  • Hi everyone.
Just another wee update for you all. I never did recieve the £20.00 as promised for the phone calls so I am now in the process of changing suppliers. I would never recommend SCOTTISH POWER to anybody in future.

No, they are part of Scottish Hydro/SSE, not Scottish Power.

    Hi lyndac40

Sorry to hear about your situation.

Firstly, if we offered you £20.00 as a goodwill gesture then you are entitled to this. I would call us as soon as you can to find out what has happened with this payment. If you have a prepayment meter then it is easy for us to apply £20.00 credit to your meter if you would prefer this.

The debt being added to you account in error will be down to either an account number or supply number being typed incorrectly when we have gone to add debt to another persons account. As this error has been highlighted to us, we will be working to ensure this type of error does not happen again within the future.

Let me know how you get on with your goodwill payment. If you have any problems let me know and I will look into this for you.

    Kind Regards
