Scotland are racist, pure and simple. Its nothing to do with pundits or media. Never have I known of such an obsession. All you here Scots harking on about is England. I have lived in Scotland for 6yrs now and it has always been the same.
Back in England you never ear us going on about Scotland. As for when they are playing football most English probably don't even know Scotland are playing. We don't go out of our way to support whoever Scotland are playing against because we couldn't care less. We have got our own team to support unlike Scots.
Shame on Scotland!
I now really hope tennis player murray gets stuffed at Wimbledon!

and if it was Scotland v any other team, you would support Scotland? i dont think so.

I dont get why people say its rasist though - race isnt about culture, race isnt a faith, race is skin colour, and (native) english, and (native) scottish are both the same, white.... so where is the rasism involved?

One thing i have to say though - I am supporting Germany in this world cup, and yes, i do want trinadad and tobago to beat england, why? becasue we never hear the end of 1966 and that was over 40 years ago, we still hear the english talk about it like it was yesterday..... if it was Scotland who won the world cup in 1966 i dont think we would still talk about it the way everybody down south do.... sure, the odd referance to it but nothing major like has been happening. and if england ever DID win the world cup, we wouldnt hear the end of it, with the english and anti-scottish people rubbing it in our faces... they are doing that now because we didnt get in to the world cup!

BUt i do have 1 question to ask everybdoy here....

What do YOU get out of it? honestly, what do you get.... say england win 2 - 1 over trinadad, what do you get? a cup? no, you get nout.... its a GAME, its not life, its not going to make everybody different.... I think what people are forgetting is..... yes, we have our differences, Scotland invented everything, english are jelous they never... (that was a joke btw) serously though, everybody forget that we are the one country..... Great Brittian, Scotland, england, ireland and wales, all tied up in the one country......

Will i want england to get beat every game? no.... why? cos i dont care.... england have some very good players... Wayne Rooney, becham, owen, lampard, etc.... but its football, a game, not life or death..... if england get beat, england isnt going to die, and nor is the english people...... nor is pride going to die either........ the main thing i have questions over is will the football hoologans actually get in to germany and spoil the event for everybody?

Can i ask everybody to sit back, at this time, and just think, about the children in a 3rd world country..... we are "fighting" about Scotland and England, and a SPORT but they are fighting to LIVE and EAT and DRINK...... Everyday, they have to fight for energy, we have it good, cant we get along?

I am Scottish, and yes, i am a patriotic person, but there is a difference from being patriotic to being 100% anti-english.

Ask most Scottish people and they will say they dont care who wins the world cup - because Scotland aint in it..... wait till Euro 2008, different story......

I dont care about the world cup, long as germany win the cup

I think thats the point....when scotland are playing there is no national coverage. its not racist or what ever you want to call it...its fact.
the media have a lot to answer for in my opinion. The use of a persons nationality changes depending on the story...andy murray alternates between scottish and british depending on whether he's winning or not...football hooligans are british when they go abroad to support england...

for the record my husband ...die hard scotland supporter would still like to see england do well...

Why is it that a simple weblink has caused a huge debate?! Lol. Personally I hate all the amnesty, given that I was born in Newcastle, raised in Scotland for the last 16 years, and have an English father and a Scottish mother!

no idea about asda's in England but was always able to buy Scottish merchandise when we still lived in Surrey during Euro 96, don't like Asda's per se and don't normally shop there due to Perth being inudated with umpteen supermarkets, just was cross about their quote in the paper.

BTW I too am sick about the media's coverage of 1966 and that damn foot, I think the media play a huge part in p***ing folk off, but why do some Scottish 'newpapers' have to print Scotland in bold letters everytime its mentioned in a story, surely most folk can get the jist of the fact the story's about Scotland!
