Hi NID,
Thank you very much. You are a star indeed.
The default has not been registered yet I believe. You are right it’s possible they may add a default against the person it was addressed to. I’ll ask for credit files at the appropriate time to see what appears on them and act according to your advice. Thank you again.

Ok, Havent posted here in a while - Probably one for you NID being the expert. I sent a settlement offer on to a DCA looking after my egg loan from 2005, balance is currently £3k but I offered a cheeky one of £800 in exchange for default removal. Letter was sent in November, bit got no reply, so I sent another beginning of January but still no response.
Any advice on a next move?0 -
offer more ?
They might think your taking the mick....0 -

Stop offering! lol, am sure I said that last time we chatted as well mate! But as you've made the offer, and not heard from them in almost 3 months its time to leave it and await their next move..... the offer is more than ample for that sized debt, if they sold this to a DCA they would be getting back around £600 for the debt at a push!2010 - year of the troll

Can I ask, if the loan agreement was originally applied for online (2002), when a CCA request was submitted should this application be supplied with the paperwork? I have received a copy of the signed paperwork, but cannot think why hubby would have applied or ticked a box for PPI as we are both sure he was self employed at the time and therefore would not have been covered.
Thanks0 -

Well then you simply state that he never ticked the box for PPi as it would have been a waste of money being he'd never have been covered anyway!
That will be your underlying argument, I suppose....2010 - year of the troll

Hi All
Sorry to hijack your thread... My mate at work told me about this yesterday, but he was specifically talking cards. Like everyone else I don't want to pay an organisation to do this if I can do it myself. I have the following that are pre April 2007
Capital One Credit Card
Halifax Loan
Sky Card (now changed to a BarclayCard)
Are any of those ones people have had success with previously? If so, I'll read through every page of advice here but don't want to waste my time if not, it seems to good to be true. Also, does it take 6 years or can it take less? I see some people have claimed these have been settled??
Thanks in advance, sorry for the hijack..0 -

All 3 can and have had items made unenforceable, you do not need to read the whole thread (it will take a year!) - just read page 1....
Send the CCA request off with £1, however bear in mind you will be defaulted so unless you are ok with that, then don't consider unenforceability.2010 - year of the troll
