Hi, Oberon. I'm a regular lurker but seldom log on or post. Yours was the first DFW I ever read and when you stopped posting I felt I had lost touch with a friend. I'm so glad things are working out for you. I feel for you closing your shop - my OH and I had a restaurant we had to close down as it wasn't making it financially. Heartbreaking when you think of all the blood, sweat and tears you have poured into making it work, but a great relief that you no longer have to go there every day with no light at the end of the tunnel. Glad to hear your pregnancy is going well. Please keep posting!0

Aww thanks hun, that's a really nice thing to say. People think it's an easy thing to do, close the door and walk away but it's not. It's not just the money thing, it's the time and effort you put in, and it made me so angry that the people in the town seemed to take it for granted. I'm much happier now, surrounded by my family, I get 3 days a week with my little girl (bloody hard work now I'm the size of a small skip) and get to have a go at making my money a much easier way. Everyone always told me they bought their wool off the internet, the phrase about beating and joining comes to mind...
The ebay thing has really gone well, a lot of stuff going for way under retail, but I'm halfway throug the stock, am much happier and am genuinely pleased that a lot of people are getting some bargains - I've had some lovely emails from people saying how nice the wool is, and how happy they are they got a bargain. We all love a good bargain...
Amazon is going great guns as well - combined ebay and amazon are paying our deposit, making a start on the debts and giving me enough money to get my beloved knitting magazines once a month. No bad going! Would love to carry on doing this full time, fits so well round my family, and DD loves going to the POst office to see Postman Pat.This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

glad that the ebay thing is going well for you, and if it can fit around the family and "life" in general then so much the better!
I had pledged to have an ebay listing fest today, but needless to say I am no further on than I was when I was fast asleep last night.......
hmm..better go grab a shower, have some lunch then get listing.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I find I'm slow to get started, but once I do, I'm away. I use turbo lister, so it makes life a bit easier (saved templates with all teh details, postage costs etc). I had put Satan's Jockstrap's toys on, but the cheapskates didn;t want to pay the price, so I'm going to have to break it down and list individual items - was waiting on a dealer to get back to me, but time awasting and I need to get it all changed into a wad of cash.....This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Aha - the elusive wad of cash!
I have listed one thing today.....hmm, must try harder methinks! Perhaps I can get the children involved this evening.
Satan's Jockstrap - isn't it lovely when we remember people with such fondnessSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
