I mean what do they do, throw a net over the nearest Lidl and drag them into the studio?

  • Glad some of you had a good bonfire night. I went to the organised one in Roundhay Park, Leeds and it was spoiled by a massive police presence. Why?

Not content with patrolling they were photographing and videoing the kids as well. And quite a few kids were really upset by it.

    Not on at all.

Mary, I didn't go to a bonfire but I was out and about and noticed there were loads of police cars zooming everywhere. It's a shame there were so many of them in Roundhay, I drove past two bonfires in Armley being done by teenagers, it looked like a recipe for disaster.

Anyway, I'm going to see my MH outreach worker this afternoon, other than that curl up on the sofa with cups of tea and a good book.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

NPT Out in Force for Bramley Bonfire

    Wednesday, November 4, 2009

Neighbourhood policing officers will be out in force tomorrow night to make sure the community bonfire in Bramley Park is a safe and enjoyable event.

Last year’s event saw eight men arrested after trouble flared when officers challenged a group who were drinking alcohol in breach of the rules put in place for the evening.

This year, officers from the West Inner Neighbourhood Policing Team will be mounting high-visibility patrols in and around the park and taking firm action to deal with any troublemakers. Those attending are reminded that an alcohol ban is in place and people are not permitted to set off their own fireworks in the park during the event.

Inspector Mark Bownass, who heads the West Inner team, said: “This is a community bonfire attended by families who rightly expect to have a safe and enjoyable time. Officers will be on patrol in the park throughout the event to ensure that all goes smoothly. They will not tolerate any behaviour that impacts on other people’s enjoyment.”
