Thanks
Hope I get the offer, with 15K limit on my green waiting till my july anniversary offer, this would be ideal, stoozed at 5.5%(4.4% net) giving 2.5% overall should be worth around £150 over the 5 months. Next year we'll be millionaires!0 -
Dammit, I can't get my head round this thread (let alone the anniversary thing!), so help welcomed!
Our 6 month 0% BT to Egg runs out on the 1st of May. We've made no purchases so are paying off the BT only.
Errr, what next? :-/ :-['Puritanism: the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy'.

You clear the balance in its entirety by the 1st of May 05.
Then you wait for the anniversary of your account for another 5 months freebie at 0%. If you don't know when the anniversary is, send them a secure message asking them the month its due.0 -

Thanks, deemy, but we can't clear it by May 1st; we'll be looking for somewhere else to BT it to and so on until we clear it. So I guess the thread is'nt relevant to us.

I heard that requesting 2k rise each day results in never being refused? Worked for me, up to 15k now with no rejections.
Now, I got the 1.9% offer email, but is it worth it transfering the full 15k to my A+L saver 5.5% for the 5 months?
I know it is profit, but will it interfere with my 05 Anniversary offer in June?Regards

Its relatively easy to get to 15k on-line for most people as no human checks are done. Now getting above £15k requires human intervention.
I would jump at 1.9% ! Transfer now, then pay it off before your anniversary starts, then transfer again on anniversary- easy money. Your looking at a profit of about £220 on the 1.9%.0 -

Fantastic. I just tried to up mine from £3k (where it's been stuck for years) to £5k and it said yes straight away. Will see how far up this will go.
I've not had the 1.9% yet, but I think my anniversary is next month so they may be holding off for that. I got a £10k offset loan with IF at 9.9%, so this will save me a fortune over 5 months. In fact, as I got half of it offset already I may actually earn some interest! The guys in the locker room kid me about having a small vocabulary.
I don't know why. Mine looks just as big as theirs.0 -
My anniversary month is May so I've just taken a £15k advantage of their 1.9% offer.
Don't forget to reset your monthly payments if you do this (or the anniversary offer for that matter). Back in October I had changed my direct debit to "pay the full amount" to pay off before the 0% ended and that is waht their system still had recorded of course.
Assuming you have a direct debit on place just go through the "regular payment" option and change it back to "pay minimum amount" until the appropriate date.If only everything in life was dreadful!0 -
I emailed egg, & asked if the offer applied to me, & I got the following response.

[glow=orange,2,300]Thanks for your message.
I can only offer you 14.9% APR typical variable.
You may have promotional rates sent you periodically, but I'm sorry that I cannot give you 1.9% at the moment. [/glow]Next year we'll be millionaires!0 -
Yep, my husband got the same. Apparently my son is already on an offer from a couple of months back - didn't bother to tell the rest of his family about it of course >:(
Having said that, from the response we are getting when asking about it, it probably would not have made any difference if he had.0
