Is it safe- cheque from France??

Hi, I would honestly not accept it. I currently live in France and there has been a massive rise in cheque fraud recently, with a lot of shops now refusing to take cheques for payment.

Obviously not everyone is out to rip you off but you will most probably also incurr additional fees to bank a euro cheque in the UK.

If you feel inclined to be helpful I would suggest you tell the buyer you will only accept a sterling cheque (the bank should issue one - for a fee, but that's then the buyer's problem) otherwise tell them to use paypal (Je n'accepte que les paiements par PayPal).

We sell infrequently on ebay.fr and have had a number of really annoying buyers wanting to buy by cheque when we have clearly stated (in French) that we only accept paypal. We only accepted one and we made him break the payment into several cheques to be under a limit they have have in France for not bouncing cheques (I think if it's for under 10EUR they won't bounce it, or something, it was a long time ago).
