I thought Airsure was FULLY trackable.

I posted something to The Netherlands via Airsure on the 23rd Oct. but still don't know whether the buyer has received it yet! (I know i can just email them to ask, but that's not the point).

This is what the tracking info. says

"Your item, posted on 23/10/09 with reference LY00******GB has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in NETHERLANDS".

In the past, i've posted items overseas using Airsure & they've received the item very quickly (2-3 days) & i've managed to confirm that they've received it via the tracking.
Even with the postal strikes, surely they should've received the package within 13 days!

Anyone else having problems with Airsure?

It should be fully trackable, that sounds like it is still en route. However I had posted recently that I thought there had been a change to the terms and conditions as the RM site now says:

We track all Airsure® items until they leave the UK and then the item is handed over to the destination country's postal service as a priority item. In most circumstances you will also be able to get electronic confirmation of delivery via Track & Trace.

    http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?mediaId=22700571&catId=400034#13300224

For this reason I do not sell items over £39 overseas as I can't see that RM now offer any guaranteed services for paypal requirements at all. The risk is now that a buyer can win a paypal chargeback but you can't claim loss from RM as they could rightly claim that they have not lost the item and have fulfilled their requirements as per T and Cs

Hmmm, those t&c's have definitely changed since i last sent an Airsure!

So basically, it's no better than sending via International signed For.

    I'm not impressed.

try putting the tracking number in the tnt netherlands post office site. http://www.tntpost.nl/voorthuis/pakketten/uw-zending-volgen/ quite often you can get more info from receiving country's website.

I was under the impression that the difference between Signed for and Airsure was that Airsure got priorty so got there a few days earlier?

    It does
All Airsure® mail receives priority handling in the UK and abroad, making it up to one day faster
Also airsure doesn't get a signature just electronic proof of delivery (which is enough for paypal for items under £150)

Seems you don't even get that!
Just to test it out, i put in a tracking number from an itemi posted a few weeks ago (that i know has been received) and it's saying the same thing as the Netherlands item:

"Your item, posted on 27/09/08 with reference LY00******GB has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in EIRE".

There's no proof at all, that the person has received it.
Doubt if i'll be using Airsure again, as it seems packages aren't being tracked.
If this went to a Paypal "item not received" dispute, i wouldn't have a leg to stand on!

I don't trust overseas tracking so I decided a couple of years ago to only sell items up to £39 overseas that way I am covered on a straight COP and my postage looks really cheap as well.
