Aftershave for teen

My son has just turned 16 and I want to put a small bottle of 'proper' aftershave in his christmas stocking.
Can anyone recommend one that would be suitable for a teen (not too overpowering - his girlfriend won't thank me) and that's not too expensive?

Why not ask his girlfriend to help you choose? She's the one who's likely to have to put up with the way he smells.
Personally I loathe aftershave and I have been known to turn up on a date and tell himself to go wash. (It's not just the smell, there's something commonly used in male aftershave that affects my breathing). I thought it was just me but a lot of my friends don't actually like it either though some do, and others are prepared to tolerate it. (Of course, it might just be that my friends like to agree with me)

Have you thought about getting him one of those gift sets with different brands in. Like this one: http://www.boots.com/en/Mens-Luxury-Fragrance-Box_1001322/
The Boots one is quite expensive, but there is a perfume shop near me where you can buy mini bottles of aftershave for a few quid each. I like those sets because the person should hopefully like at least one of the smells!0 -
DS2 is nearly 16 and likes Paul Smith Extreme which was a present from DD and smells lovely and fresh.0

Thanks - I like the idea of the miniatures so he gets to try several out - will have a look and see what I can find.xxx Nikki xxx0

i recommend the diesel one in a white bottle, its a lovely fresh scent, definitely for a younger afetrshave wearer, and in savers its usually under £10 from what i remember.Mummy to

superdrug are always fairly inexpensive and i have found my own perfume from there to be at the cheapest price than other stores, you can always ask for recomendations from the staff or perfume counter in boots they may be able to tell you the popular brands:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

Ben Sherman aftershave.
Its quite cheap but the smell isn't to mature, the smells quite fun and fresh.
This is what my brother got at this age.. and strangley my OH did too.
I still quite like the smell :P
Boots have some in atm
Oh and please what ever you do .. do not get him old spice.
That really is the worst you could do.
1) Hes not an old man.
2) hes friends will find out and will take the !!!!0 -
Or Joop - the pinky purple bottle. My OH used to wear that alot (he started wearing it at about 15 and still wears it every now and then 8 yrs on) - i too don't like the smell of many mens aftershaves but Joop seems to be an old fave with alot of people i know (Who are all in their early 20's might i add, lol)!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0
