Hi homegrown and SHWA!
Thanks for dropping inThe lunch part I'm starting to find is easier as I go along, though I did treat myself to a sneaky can of fizzy juice today
the whole "challenge" thing is making me think so much more about every penny I'm spending.
SHWA- Wow, well done for keeping up the lunch bringing! I've been dipping in and out of mse for a while now (was previously registered with a different username but it was a bit too obvious) and completely go for it for at the most a month, then fall off the wagon again.
This time WILL be different though
I've taken a portion of soup out of the freezer for lunch tomorrow and am going to fill a little bottle with some fizzy juice from the house incase I get tempted again!
From my plan earlier today:
[STRIKE]*Have made my lunch (Ham Sandwich)
*Charge Camera
*Do my PAD
*Put Cheque into bank
*Iron stuff to take photos for ebay
*Actually get a decent amount of stuff done at work today![/STRIKE]
Yeay! Baby steps everyday will get me there. Going to go and do my 15mins of exercise tonight then watch another couple of episodes of 24 while making Christmas Decorations before heading to bed early, blooming knackeredThe debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time

Morning
The taking lunch to work does get easier the longer you do, till you get to the point where you never want to buy lunch. I however today have forgotten what i went to the shops yesterday for and so have to buy lunch today so annoyed with myself, i was in the shop to get supplys and i had a list and still forgot what i need for my lunch, rubbish. On the upside i did make home made soup so tea will be yummy.
Well done so far and good luck.1vs 100 £505500/335.25 (5.5K COMING DOWN)20.00/10,000(10K GOING UP)Not long now0 -
shwa, I'm not looking forward to when I have to go shopping for my lunch as I always manage to get it so wrong
I've managed to make lunches from stuff that's been in the freezer/larder/fridge so far and have had a nice varied 11 days and not craved the shop bought sandwiches once
Hope your week's going good so far zar!
It's more of my tom soup for lunch today, so glad I decided on that last night as it's freezing here today :snow_grin
I'm feeling rather motivated this morning/afternoon so planning to get lots done at work today as it's going to be a busy week, then tonight I'm going to take photos of the stuff I ironed last night so I can get listings done in turbolister ready for getting listed on the main site at the weekend - that's the plan anyway! The debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time

Have you thought about the cup-a-soup range?
You can get a pack of 4 for about £1 and freeze some bread, and then each day take a cup-a-soup and a couple of slices of bread in a sandwich bag, I find them quite filling and they're really low in calories and saturated fat, so not bad for you either!
I prefer the chicken noodle ones, but there's loads of flavours to choose from!
Keep going DBG you're doing really really well!

write a list of what you've enjoyed having and think about what you can keep in the house to make those lunches.
Have you got a microwave at work? You could always save a portion of what you had the night before to heat up, like chilli, curry or stew? Or you could get one of those short and fat thermos flasks and heat it up, not sure how hot it will keep though.
I wish I'd had soup for lunch here, just really fancy it! Thanks for the ideas zar & homgrown!
I'm not a big fan of cup-a-soupsI've actually got a couple of half packs in the shop that were bought the last time I went on a lunch taking kick (though that didn't even last as long as this one!) The soup I'm having at the mo was made using tomatoes that weren't fresh enough for salads etc, a couple of small potatoes, an onion, stock and some dried herbs etc about 15 mins prep and it made me 5 portions
No micro at work, just a kettle which has narrowed me down on what I can take  I was looking at those "food" thermos when I bought my half-litre flask, maybe I could do a mini experiment with my own before testing it out properly at work - don't want to take a curry & rice for it to be cold by lunch :rotfl: My soup today was still roasting by lunch, nearly burnt my tongue!
I have made a random list of "things" that would go together so I can glimpse at it and see if anythign strikes me. Have made a bacon sarnie for tomorrow.
BUT after all that rambling I had a bit of a blip today  spent just over £7 on fizzy juice, some wrapping paper for ebay and the thing that's annoying me most was I went and bought two £2 scratchcards
Why, why, why!!
I think I've been behaving myself for the last fortnight that my brain just snappedwon nothing on them anyway, and then felt like total crap. Sorted out my purse and I have just under £11 and that is going to last me until the end of the month - about £1 per working day which should be perfectly manageable since I'm bringing in my lunch. Nothing is going to come out of the cash machine and I have £13 of Tesco vouchers and £5 of coop vouchers so when I finally do need to go shopping for lunch I've got "cash" to buy it with. Hoping not to have to buy and lunch stuffs till next month anyway as there's plenty in the cupboards/freezer that can be used up.
On the up side I got £20 that I was owed for doing internet buying for someone who can't work a computerthat's going into the bank tomorrow and straight into the overdraft fund and I took photos of a 14 different items so I can get working on the listings before the weekend.
Apologies for the massive postgoing to go and watch me some 24 and chill for a bit!

aww don't beat yourself up. Learn from it and move on
If you try a thermos for lunches do let me know. Hubby has a generic flask thing for soup and it lets heat out of the top so by lunch time it can be a bit luke warm. Maybe a proper one will be better, but then I only work one day a week and we have a microwave so I really don't need one. I always think it would be good to send OH off with leftovers though.
Hope the ebay listing goes well. I've stalled on that!2010 Cost of Living Challenge - £901/£5300 * Grocery challenge - £117.91/£120 *Total Debt- [STRIKE]£6388.74[/STRIKE] £5995.66 :eek:Debt Free Reward Pot £11 * Overdraft vs 100 days £363.76/£800 *Feb NSD's 8/120 -
Don't worry DBG I had a small blip today, spent £2.50 on a raffle ticket at the pub for the chance to win £95, it would have been worth it if I'd won haha!
Hope you're okay, you're doing so so well!
