Why can't you price your books to include postage and fees and list them with that as the starting price.

For the past few months private sellers have been allowed to list items at 99p or less for free so there were tens of thousand s of books being sold at 99p with postage up to the maximum allowed of £2.75. Now that the free postage is factored in it means that private sellers have to pay 10p to list a book as they are unlikely to be able to list at 99p and include free postage.

Having had a good few months of free listings and having forgotton the previous need to pay listing fees many sellers are relucant to list any more now they have to pay.

Why don't you add the cost of the postage to the start price?

But if you do this, you then have to pay a fee, as no book will seel and cover postage at under £1.

I'm miffed by this ruling. I've lots of books to sell, but don't wish to pay listing fees, as many won't sell. I'm not a dealer, and would simply like to add the few pounds I would make to my account rather than someone elses if I freecycle them.

Looks like the charity shop will benefit if I can't.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

    There's always Amazon. :)
The fees are overall higher, but there is no listing fee.

We sell there for reasons that go beyond just listing fees, but it's good enough if that's your reasoning too.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

99p free listing has only been in since this year. If you cant sell and cover your fees its obviously not worth listing

it would almost seem a kindness to put her out of her misery wouldn't it?

Don't forget people who decide to bid on these items, pay the 99p immediately auction ends and then sit back and watch the fireworks.
