Not sure how we got on to chicken feet here too but I have just pointed out on old style that I love chicken feet salad (thai style) with shredded green papaya.
Making me homesick reading the food list on here
Can stand the stuff myself, wife loves it has it every couple of week or so. Only good thing about it is when she makes it I know her friends are coming around so I have my excuse to go to the pub.0 -

Do you cook? Are you from Hong Kong? I've had a go at making some dim sum, quite a few times, and its ok. That fluffy bun dough is testing though, and my steamed wrappers tend to stick, BADLY. My mother used to make ''pot stickers'' a lot when I was little.0 -
where are you from misskool?
Somewhere in SE Asia, forgive me if that's not close enoughlostinrates wrote: »Do you cook? Are you from Hong Kong? I've had a go at making some dim sum, quite a few times, and its ok. I cook (quite well) when I have a kitchen. Not from Hong Kong.
Some of the dim sum is quite easy. Pot stickers is dead easy. Flour, water and the filling. How do you like yours? Boiled, steamed or fried?
Although, to keep this on topic, the recession has hit some mid range places and people go to slightly cheaper places to go out and eat. Although I detest Yo Sushi with a vengence.0 -
Errrrrr have any of you seen the news today? People are living in a dream world. No recession! ... Unbelieveable.0

Forgiven(you would be anyway, but I'm glad you are in the spiri of things. I think the fluffy stuff helps sometimes.)
Yes, but it STICKS! I like them ALL WAYS. But probably steamed best.
I'm so coming to London to eat, in the very near future.:o0 -

Just got back from the local Thai. Chilli pork with basil, mmm :P
The steamed yum cha dishes are the nicest I reckon. One deep fried is usually enough, and plenty of dumplings.
Lots of yum cha in Singapore, though plenty of papaya in Vietnamese and Thai... Fair enough if you don't want to say though.
We should have a yum cha day out. It's always better with more people! And you could teach us all your funny names for the dishes lost. haha0 -
