they cannot charge you more once you have received your goods!!
they have the chance to cancel your order before dispatch if they will not honour the discount. Why are you trying to make people panick?
I am not trying to make people panic.
Last night I became concerned that Hot Diamond web-site was slowing down.....plus there were at least 3 threads on MSE alone about this 'deal'. I don't know how many other web-sites had similar threads on the go.
I am all for a bargain....or else why do I come on here....but when people are openly boasting about getting hundreds of pounds worth of goods for pence if not nothing, and deliberately opening accounts in their friends and relatives names to get even more freebies..... as I said yesterday, how can any business support this kind of hit?
Then I noticed whole threads disappearing from MSE without any explanation that I could see.
I posted my thoughts and concerns on here.
Peeps today have reported receiving emails from HD mentioning the unprecidented activity over the weekend, and all new accounts being looked at carefully....
Therefore, were my worries unfounded:cool:
I did not phone HD or email them to tell them what was going on.
I have ONE item on order with HD myself.
I ordered the Glamour Mag offer weeks ago simply for the purpose of buying this ONE item.
So far I have not received it, nor received an email saying it has been dispatched.
I will be gutted if my order is cancelled as a result of peeps trying to get hundreds of pounds worth of goods for free, but not surprised.
It won't be the first time, and it sure won't be the last where the majority have missed out on getting a little bargain because the excesses of a minority have brought the 'bargain' unneccesary attention.
All it would take is one member of MSE to work for HD, or be married to, friends with or related to someone.....
Then a quick phone call saying..."You'll never guess what I've just read..."
As someone has said, they did the offer with Glamour presumably as a 'Loss Leader' type exercise to get new account holders, some of whom would hopefully spend more than the £25.
I don't suppose they anticipated they would arrive in the office to find thousands of orders needing to be made up and shipped out.....and only a few pounds coming in.
If my posting yesterday made some peeps think twice before making multiple orders for goods costing hundreds of pounds using all the codes flying around here and other sites.....well perhaps it might mean we all have a better chance of some of our orders being honoured.
Whatever their markup, and whatever the quality of the items, this company employ people.
Personally I would feel guilty if on Jan 1st it was annouched HD had gone bust, and hundreds of staff were out of work, due to the actions of MSErs and others.
Just my personal opinion, each to their own0 -
i think if you have nothing to hide youll be fine if you applied for more than two accounts (allowing for partner) then perhaps they could question itReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. I think they could question it regardless of the amount of accounts you have if you have used codes that weren't issued to you/intended for general use surely?0 -
I completly agree. I myself subscribed to glamour mag to get the £25 voucher and did this all in good faith and Im now fairly annoyed that this company may take more money from my account because of other people ordered things for nothing and opening loads of accounts. This was intended for people who ordered glamour and I think its the way it should of stayed, instead people got greedy and now a lot of peoples orders are at risk because of it.
Im not having a go at anyone just feel a bit miffed for the people who subscribed for this, they may not even get something that they have actually paid for (the subscription was £6).
Lets hope as hot diamonds have said they will send out orders to peoples whos accounts are verified.0 -
