Everything okay tonight?

Whilst trying to open threads, I've had an MSE page saying forums are due an upgrade and will be back up at 6pm.

Also having trouble loading pages intermittently.

I'm having the same problems tonight, pages taking ages to load or not at all, and just had the old forum upgrade message, twice actually as it did it when I tried to submit this message the first time. I've copied it this time just in case it does again the little beastie.:rotfl:

We're experiencing some unexpected load on the servers at the moment but we're looking into it and hope to have it cleared soon.

some weird and funny (well, not always) things happening since the last update, specially viewing threads

for instance this thread has conradmum as the last poster, but when I click on Go to last post little blue arrow, I get to the 41st post instead of the 80th post and I'm not able to view conradmum's post even now

since the first upgrades the database has been a long while, upto 5 minutes the very least, to update posts, we never had this problem before, by the looks this update issue has worsened, I hope it would make a difference mentioning this here with the hope of it being recitified

I say so because on the other thread, MSE Ian stated it as a matter of fact that posts had not been in the forums long enough to be indexed by our search engine. I'm not entirely certain if he's suggesting that it has to be accepted and not to be reported, in which case it isn't exactly exciting because it is frustrating that we are stuck with an unresolved issue which was never an issue to begin with in the past. Sorry if I'm not supposed to point this out, I wanted to anyway.

the one thing that made a world of difference is the speed in accessing and surfing the site since the first upgrade which definitely is great, no page hung on me ever since

I would have to agree. :(

I've had posts taking 30 mins or more to show up via the forum search.

Considering that before the upgrades over the last 6 months or so the search database used to update within a few minutes or quicker, the forum search has taken a significant backward step.

While in most cases you can argue that it is a minor irritation, I have recently frequently encountered the problem while trying to track down spam posts on my boards. I know the posts have been made, but the significant delay in the forum search means I can't locate them. Frustrating, if nothing else.
