Sacked what benefit entitlements do I have.

I have today been sacked for gross misconduct. I am appealing the decision as I feel ity was unfair. The only person that could have proved innocenece was the HR director, but she would then have been implicated as having done wrong, so basically I'm stufferd.
Anyway, does anyone know what my benefit entitlements are? I'm rergistered disable, have a 16 year old at college and am married. I have almost no savings and am a private tenant.
Any advice, or where to start would be greatly appreciated.

If you have been sacked for gross misconduct, you could face the possibility of being sanctioned from receiving JSA for up to 26 weeks.
Could you clarify what you mean by being "registered disabled" as this doesn't exist anymore; do you mean that you claim DLA?0 -
I;m registered as partially sighted, and recieve some benefit for this. Would I be entitled to housing benefit and council taxc benefit?0

You cna claim HB and CT benefit as well as JSA, your personal amount of JSA can be sanctioned for up to 2 weeks but you can claim hardship payments as well as for your wife, you need to inform tax credits you are no longer working, your WTC if you get it will stop and your CTC will be reassessed.

Man, the 26 weeks is only possible...not certain, not even likely. Just tell them you got sacked...if they ask.

As has been said, you may be sanctioned for a period of no less than one week and no more than 26 weeks.
Should this happen, you may be entitled to hardship payments.
Can you give more information regarding the circumstances of the dismissal, your employers definition of 'misconduct' may differ from that defined in social security legislation (ie it is not restrained by employment legislation)0 -
