bt cancellation charges broadband

Am moving house but will not move into my new property for another month and a bit . My contract has ended with bt so I am not tied to them but they have just told me I will have to pay a cancellation charge of 25 pounds. I wanted to stay with BT but have not completed on my house purchase so cannot transfer the broadband phone etc yet. Also they can only book 30 days in advance so I cannot even book a transfer as it is outside the period. I feel this charge is unfair when I have every intension to continue the service. Any advice on what I can do
