Yes, my PC was running so slow, and that why I treid a differnt anti software, now kaspersky is in the recycle bin, my PC runs much better with Mcaffee

Thats fair enough. But I can tell you know it would run a whole lot better if you removed mcafee (Completely) and reinstalled Kaspersky (I can see why you wouldnt want to, but mcafee is notorious at slowing computers down)

Personally speaking I wouldnt remove one main av with another just to try to fix a problem. Id run malwarebytes, SAS, DR WEB etc etc so theres no need to keep making a mess of the system registries

I get my suites free and so have tried Norton and Kaspersky and others.

Out of the 2 i would DEFINATELY get Kas, as i find it good at its job. I found Norton to be a bit of a resourse hog and it missed a few virus' Kas didn't.

However, at the minute i am using NOD32 and am finding it better than either!

Norton has got itself a poor reputation but I've just upgraded to Norton 2010 and it's a vast improvement so I'd recommend Norton 2010.
A problem shared is a problem multiplied. :o

Thanks, you might be right.. I am not a PC geek, so I only based on my results.
I might try Kaspersky again then

If you do go down that route, make sure you use the MCAFEE REMOVAL TOOL as simply uninstalling leaves bits behind (And even a NORTON REMOVAL TOOL if you never used it before)

  • Why pay for anything?
Download avast for antivirus, Online armor, comodo or zonealarm for firewall and spybot search and destroy for spy/malware.
Couple this with ccleaner to clear out all the rubbish that windows accumulates and the hardware firewall in your router and your system will be like fort knox lol.

I really dont like paid subscriptions for antivirus etc as they really arnt any better than the free stuff available on the web. Norton slowed my machine to a crawl last time i tried it, as did avg, so id avoid those two.
  • I purchased the Kapersky 2010 Internet Suite and it works a treat. Very easy to install and it works away quietly in the background without constantly bothering me with annoying pop-ups and uber-cautious warning messages.

The whole suite (12 month licence for 3 PCs) is currently available at Tesco for £24 which is nearly half what Norton costs.

A bargain and I'm delighted with it. Judging from all the advice above I made the right choice.
