Norton or Kapersky Internet Security?

I'm popping out to Tesco in a couple of hours to purchase a new Internet Security suite and was wondering whether MSE users prefer Norton or Kapersky?

Both packages get excellent reviews from Computer Active and there seems to be very little between them.

Also, the programs are only valid for 12 months, something which I never had a problem with using my previous version (2005)

Is it just the anti-virus updates which end in a year's time or will the whole program become useless. The anti-virus I can live without as I prefer AVG, but I don't want my Firewall to suddenly become useless in a year's time.

All help appreciated as always.

There is a firewall built into windows, and routers, 3rd party firewalls are overkill. If you want the free option, turn on windows firewall, and install avira or avast.

Kaspersky is far better than avg, and better than norton. You'll lose updates after a year.

NIS 2010 is light on resources.
Buy NIS 2009 upgrade from Amazon 1 user 3 PC licence for £30 ish, premier edition seems cheapest for some reason.
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Norton-Internet-Security-Premier-2009/dp/B001KES9M6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1257354112&sr=8-2

When registered you can upgrade top NIS 2010 for free.

........or stick with a free AV and firewall
That gum you like is coming back in style.

I have just purchased a 2 year extension to my F-Secure internet security(2010). I have used F-Secure for 4 years now and am very pleased with its performance. As I have not used any of the competition I cannot coment futrher.

I wouldnt touch Mcafee with a bargepole.
Have you even tried any of the others? Mcafee makes a system run like treacle (And is so very poor at what its supposed to do)

Kaspersky 3-user licence FREE, just pop into Barclays and open a card account. You don't even need to deposit any money in it. Due to Postal strikes, it could however, take up to 2 weeks for all the bits you need to complete your online banking registration (and therefore gain access to the Kaspersky offer) to arrive.

Ask them nicely and they may even supply you with a Mac version if you have one.
