CCJ - knew nothing about it! HELP!!

Hello all,
I have just found a ccj on all my credit files from Aug 08. It was originally from a 5-aside football company called Football Mundial.
I am searching through all my old emails from over a year ago as they were fine to accept a few pounds every month whilst I was out of work.
The reason I had a debt was because we joined the league but by half way through we did not have enough players so we pulled out. They sent me a letter telling me I owed over a grand in repayments for the rest of the season.
Anyway, I paid them cash whenever I could and now all of a sudden - apparently I have been to Bromley for a CCJ via IKON DEBT COLLECTIONS and yet know nothing about any of it...
I agreed to pay what I could and also would be able to pay now - but the unforseen ccj really ruins my credit file - is there anything I can do to get rid of it??
Thanks

You can get it set aside if you can prove that the paperwork did not get to you.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Well, 2 weeks on and I asked ICON (really friendly crowd) for copies of all the literature they supposedly sent me and I have received nothing. They said I would get it all within 10 days...
What else can I do as I know they are in the wrong but it just seems the onus is on them to prove they sent out the paperwork - and really, they could just make it up and backdate it..?
Any help will be hugely appreciated...0 -
The original CCA maybe...did you sign anything?BOI Credit Card = Was £3500.00 Now £0.00
GE Capital Store Card= Was £1800.00 Now £0.00
GE Capital Store Card = Was 1300.00 Now £0.00
Credit Union Savings Now £200.00 :T0 -

not sure what a CCA is...
All I ever signed was an agreement to join Football Mundial...as mentioned I payed the outstanding debt whenever I could but without warning I suddenly had a CCJ. I want Icon to send me the paperwork (as instructed to do so by the National Debtline) because I want to prove that I did not receive any warning/indication.
Is there anyone else I can turn to?0 -

We do have a CCJ expert on her thou I'm not sure of the username of by hand (might be 10past6 try sending a pm, have you contacted national debtline again and told them that they have failed to supply the paperwork within a reasonable time?
A CCA is a consumer credit agreement, not sure if it would apply to what you are doing, as it applys to credit like loans, credit cards, but not contracts like mobiles, overdrafts etc.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Back again - I have all the paperwork that the ICON solicitors sent me and the only letter I recieved was a NOTICE OF LEGAL ACTION.
This gives no date and according to the National Debtline I should have been given a date and something to respond to. I did not recieve this information (and I WOULD have paid if I knew this was happening).
Can anyone help me - I am on hold to Bromley Court now but would really appreciate any guidance??
Many thanks0 -
Hello
Sorry to hear you haven't got this sorted yet
Did you look at the websites I linked you to in November- Post # 4?
They have specific parts that tell you how to get a CCJ set aside if you did not receive the correct paperwork.
Good Luck
