Isn't it the other way around? I thought shepherd's pie is made with lamb because it's the shepherd who looks after the sheep

oh perhaps you're right - I just thought that the difference in the two was the meat.

I do more or less the same as above, fry onions, add stock and mince (plus any additions you want)- I often add baked beans - then thicken the gravy with Bisto. One good thing about Quorn is that it doesn't shrink like mince so you get more of the mixture so although it may be more expensive than mince to buy, it can go further so is a good OS meal.

Hi, I buy realeat veggie mince (usually next to quorn mince in the freezer department) its nicer, you get more in a bag for less money and I actually think its cheaper than 'real' mince..I get a big bag for 1.99. I then bulk it out with baked beans, tinned toms and sometimes lentils.

I do it with veggie mince too. I use veg stock, a couple of bay leaves and a bouquet garni. I always add sliced carrot and maybe turnip too.

I fry the qourn with an onion then add a tin of campbells tomato soup then add milk by measuring a tin full and add a spoon of mixed herbs. then put the mash on top and pop in oven.

Fry finely chopped onions then add Quorn mince (I cook straight from freezer)
A few mins later add chopped carrots (or similar veg)
Pour in some thick veggie gravy (tesco's is yummy)
Add herbs, I use Thyme, Parsley & Basil (be generous)
Secret ingredient is tomato Ketchup (which I hate on food but is great for cooking)
Season with pepper & a pinch of chilli powder
    Add some frozen peas
Once ready put in your oven dish & add your mash (mix in dried mint with mash)
Sprinkle with cheese & decorate with sliced tomatoes.

    YUMMY !! YUMMY !! YUMMY !! YUMMY !!
I cooked this for a meat-eating Pro-Chef, he asked for more & the recipe so I hope you will enjoy.
Dried herbs are so cheap (fresh are great this time of year) Veggie mince needs herbs. :T

If I am making a veggie dish and need gravy, marmite adds a really nice flavour though I know its a love or hate thing, it is completely different used in cooking.
A teaspoon adds a nice flavour.
