HTC Hero vs Blackberry 8520
Hi guys. I just ordered a BB Curve 8520 with Orange [through e2save] on a 24m contract but it's still unopened in the box. I'm thinking about selling it and buying a used/new Hero for about £100 extra and using the orange sim card [3g enabled].
Problem is, I can't make my mind up - I'll be mainly doing all these things:
-Using Google Calendar
-Opening word docs, ppt files, pdf files
-Browsing the web [news/forums/blogs] on the train/bus
-Playing a few games
All of these things can be done on both phones and the BB has BB Messenger and a keyboard (but I don't email/text much).
Which should I go for? Is Android worth about an £100-120 extra?

Why don't you just return the 8520 if it's still unopened?
I'd say for your needs, Hero sounds the best bet. Screen is bigger for internet browsing and games. Only downside is that it's all touchscreen, so wether or not you'd swap a keypad for that. It takes some getting used to, but you'd either love it or hate it.0 -
Did I mention that I am currently selling my HTC Hero

Its only 3 months old and I just want the Iphone
The Hero is simply a great phone, although I can not say too much about BB...
You can download the messenger via your Hero and most other Online application things like twitter etc. The browser even has flash.
I love the Hero, but I just would lovet to have an Iphone....0 -

Get the hero.
Yes, Android is worth way more than £100 extra, the Hero is now getting modded as HTC have released the kernel source so the Rom cookers can get busy.( head to MoDaCo or XDA dev )
The hero is very user friendly, easy to mod and can do whatever you ask it to. The market is growing at a huge rate.
2010- the year of the android!0
