Moisturiser for men: a 'manly' one that works... (!)

  • Moisturiser is moisturiser, the "Men's Range" stuff is all just marketing spiel to charge a premium but I do understand how a man wouldn't necessarily want to be seen to be using something too "girly".

Superdrug make a Vitamin E moisturiser which is in a pretty plain bottle and is unscented/neutral-smelling and quite light, so great for daytime. I buy it when they have a 2 for 1 offer but I think it's usually sold at around £1.50 normally

    I've been Money Tipped!
DH uses the ends of my pots, when I have somehting new and exciting that might make me look 18 again waiting to be opened. :) Maybe once your guy has overcome fears of unlanliness he can do the same?

Simple..just use Nivea lotion. Not girlie, not scented and it works. Or if he wants to go a little more up market, Nivea for men DNAge range.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
  • I was also going to suggest Nivea...Also, all of Kiehl's products are unisex and the give a lot of samples which are very generous in size... not the cheapest, but the last ages and they are great products... I remember once when I caught my OH using my Kielhs moisturiser 'for shaving' he said... I understood then why I thought it was going quicker than normally...:-)

Er... no, I am not letting him loose on my expensive face cream!

He's used to swarfega and industrial amounts of dirt and oil remover, he would use 50% of one of my little girly jars in one go. That's one of the reasons why I want to make sure I get him a 'for men' version, so he has no excuse to decimate anything belonging to me.
  • Elemis mens moisturiser is the best i've used. However, at £25 for 50ml.. it's not cheap

For an ultra cheap alternative, go to the chemist and buy a tube of diprobase emollient cream - its great for dry skin

Clinique mens is nice, but due to cuts back and me still wanting the nice stuff i started buying him l'oreal which he liked. Boots mens no7 is also very nice, quite often they do a mens gift with purchase, so i buy myself something and get him the mens gift with lots of samples in to try and once i know what he likes i use the £5 off vouchers on the full size.

Heh, he sounds just like my OH! :D Mine asked me to get him a 'manly' moisturiser also- I have since bought him 'Bulldog' moisturiser as a christmas pressie. It's marketed at men who think moisturising is girly and I've read good reviews about it. My brother uses it too so I am hoping he'll be pleased with it.

Have a look at their website here:

I got mine from Superdrug, it's a little pricey but hey, if it makes men feel better about moisturising it must be worth it :rotfl:

That's a great idea, I have checked boots.com and they have a men's No 7 gift available at the moment - that's one for me then!

My bf likes the Clinique gel moisturiser the best. He's used the No7 one too when I've got him the mens' GWPs (when I've bought things for me!), and a couple of other sample sizes when I've been waiting for Clinique to go on GWP again, but he definitely likes the Clinique one best.
