BargainBird - its will probably sound a bit mad but Hopi Ear candles are special candles that are placed in your ear & burnt. It creates a small vacumm, you hear a pleasant cracking noise. Its great for loads of things - stress, blocked sinus, tinitus, snoring and loads of other stuff I cant remember :rotfl:Its really lovely and relaxing and if I have it done every 6 weeks or so it keeps my sinus' clear. She finishes with a sinus massage with euculptus (sp) oil which is really lovely - especially now when I have the remains of a cold. It is something that I will keep going for as long as I can afford to.

Have hoovered and washed kitchen floor, done some paperwork and phonecalls but no ironing  damn cold has now turned into a tickly cough so methinks will be having another early night.x

the consultant said yes there has been a fair bit of change , my space holding the spinal cord has narrowed and one disc has virtually gone .
I explained that my life was'nt of a good quality for someone my age , and said that i have both chronic and acute pain and its making me very miserable , sleepless nights , unable to walk, stand or sit for long peoriods.
he's marked me as urgent for an injection which is going to be done by a pain specialist which is a bit more evasive than the last one .
if that does'nt work , then i will have to have an operation which has a 70% chance of being successful , but has a 30% chance of making it worse .
I asked about work , he did say ,i cant lift , push or pull or sit or stand for any length of time , so i'm guessing that rules out my job for a while .
I will have to speak to them this week and update them .
I'm also an urgent case on his list and said sorry that he did'nt realise that i had to wait 6months for a review and will make them more frequent from now on .
My OH came with me and now he realises the full impact of it all .

Big happy birthday to George :T, glad it went as well as can be expected Cranky

I'm feeling bit better today, did a full day in work. Went to visit the site of our community project which starts Friday. We are helping build a sensory garden for a local primary school. It was absolutely freezing there today! So will need to wear a million layers when doing it!

No OS-ness for me today. Popped to Tesco for tissues and came out £10 lighter and forgot the tissues :rotfl:Got me a Pizza Express pizza with free dough balls, so thats 2 meals sorted, some magazines and some Ben &Jerry's ice cream! Ah well, I'm ill so who cares!

Got an exciting day in work tomorrow, will tell all tomorrow evening!

    Have a good evening

Well I learn something every day :D I've just had to google Lebkuchen as I'd never heard of it. Going to keep my eye out now though as it sounds yummy! Celyn Thanks for the muffin recipe I'm going to give that a whirl at the weekend :T

Do you have Lidl? They have different sorts, the type like either biscuits (but more cakey) or very big biscuits, or little ones in bags. Some covered in chocolate and some not.

I expect ALdi will have them as well, as they're a German thing.

I went to Lidl today and only bought what was on my list...2 boxes tissues, one pack of marshmallows (for crispy cakes to use the toffee up in the baking drawer.) and a pack of sock wool.

    Hi,
What a very sad day. One of my DS1 (19) friends was killed yesterday in Afghanistan. I feel so sad for them as I know the family and I cant imagine what they must be going through. It impacts on both DS1 and DD1 as the lad was a good friend of DS1 and his sister good friends with DD1 . I also lost one of very dear furry friends this morning which was very unexpected and although pales into insignificance was very much part of our family and particularly was a very special part of my DS2 life as he lived in his bedroom a lot of the time.

    Hope everyone is doing ok.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Mad day here involving lost chickens, "helpful" bin men, crazy neighbours, nosy strangers and me. :o Why did the chicken cross the road???? To make an ar se out of Haribo apparently.
Little OS apart from the usual swishing, swiping and cooking.

    Evening, everyone.

Molly, sorry to hear of that news. It is a sad day :(
Thriftlady - definitely happy birthday to Wallace and Gromit. 20 years already. I remember their first film fondly
Haribo - here's hoping you don't have to re-enact Chicken Run again!

Right, today hasn't been brilliant, but I've tried to keep positive. There's a bit of an atmosphere at work, there was an accident blocking the town centre so I had to fast walk about a mile to catch a lift home with DH, and I'm not feeling brilliant anyway. I did find a lovely pair of red socks with hearts on in a reusable silicon muffin cup for £2 in Mr Ms today and I think I'll buy another few of those as I love the socks and there are different kinds. Besides which, the reusable cup cases will make a good present if I get half a dozen. The socks are rolled up to look like cupcakes, which is really cute. Also, I found a nice big pack of blueberries reduced to 49p. Now, blueberries are one of my favourite fruits (closely behind fresh apricots) so they didn't last long. I'm really getting to like fruit, but as work hadn't been great I bought a packet of chunky chocolate cookies...

...I only had one, honest. It was nice though. I'm trying to see if I can have only one a day.

Got to have a nice hot bath tonight, which will help with the aching stomach I have. There's no way I'm exercising after the fast walk earlier. Take care everyone, and have a lovely evening.

Molly That's awful news I'm so sorry. Nothing I can say can make it any less so. I'll remember the family (and all the grieving military families) in my prayers tonight.

Purpleivy Ooh you've started an obsession now :rotfl: DH & I are very partial to a bit of ginger anything ;) We don't get to Lidl very often but Aldi is easy. I'll add it to my list for there which already has Bratwurst sausages & the Super 6 offers. Thanks for the tip.

I'm going for a bath soon as my very favourite tv programme is on at 9pm - Spooks! I've been an avid watcher for years so it's exciting to have a new series starting :D

It seems as though lots of us are having a rough time at the moment so I'll say Big & warm hugs to anyone who wants one tonight xxx

They used to put the super 6 on the website, but the last time I looked it wasn't there. I suppose you have to go to the shop to find out!

    editing...checked, it's there now.
