Electrical tape will sort out any warning lights, just cover the said warning light and forget about it.

Not if you topped up significantly over the max mark as this will also cause damage, potentially blowing the crankshaft oil seal. And you don't need to be a car expert. It's all explained in the owners manual and understanding how to check the oil level and top it up is part of the driving test these days.0
