It's happened on just about every car I've ever owned. What car do you have?'

dont just add oil if you dont know...it can cause damage if its overfilled
  • I bet the indicators on the car only work intermittently as well.

Electrical tape will sort out any warning lights, just cover the said warning light and forget about it.

    Alternatively, read the manual!

We checked the oil and it was hard to tell because I think the oil is new, it is not black yet. We added some oil incase. Is it okay then? As long as it doesn't come on when I'm driving?
Not if you topped up significantly over the max mark as this will also cause damage, potentially blowing the crankshaft oil seal. The results won't be nice.
  • Well I'm sorry if I'm not a car expert..

Is mine suppose to come on then? Ford fiesta mk4 1996

Yes they all are. They come on then go out. If they don't either the bulb has gone, the pressure switch is broken, or the wiring is damaged.

And you don't need to be a car expert. It's all explained in the owners manual and understanding how to check the oil level and top it up is part of the driving test these days.
