T-Mobile and adverse credit rating

Hi all,
I've got an issue with T-Mobile that's really upset me, and I'm not sure what to do.
In November 2008 I went to Phones4U and changed my mobile phone to a Vodafone, as I had very poor T-Mobile coverage in my area. I had 3 months left on my T-Mobile contract and was told that this would be paid for by Vodafone, who I was switching to.
However, I received bills from T-Mobile after signing up with Vodafone and, eventually after getting a warning letter, the penny dropped that I would still have to pay the balance of £70-odd pounds, which I did in the early part of this year (probably abour March, will have to check).
Anyway, I thought that was that -- but I've just checked my credit report as I'm coming up to mortgage renewal, and am devestated to see that I have a 'poor' rating of 348 and it all relates to T-Mobile!!!! Every other account I have is excellent with no missed payments, except the T-Mobile one which reckons I defaulted on a £32 bill this October (as in October 09)!!! I swear to god, I have never, ever had any communications from T-Mobile after I paid up early this year, and besides which, I would have just paid the £32 at the end of my contract with the other payment I made if I owed it to them.
Please can anyone advise the best way forward? I have no idea what the £32 relates to and why haven't they been in touch about it if I owed it to them?
Many thanks!

You will need to take this up with Carphone Warehouse, vodafone won't buy out your contract, it would have been carphone warehouse. The problem is that time has now passed and that the debt has been paid off. In the eyes of t-mobile they don't know about this so will not remove the default as they were correct to place it as the contract was not paid. Your power to negotiate the removal of the default will have ended when you paid up the amount in full.
At the end of the day, it came down to you ensuring your t-mobile contract was finished and paid off and finally cancelled without a problem. Usually carphone warehouse will give you a cheque or cash in hand to pay off the remainder, they won't do it for you. If carphone warehouse were dealing with t-mobile instead of you, you might have a case to sue them for damages on not getting such a good mortgage rate. You could contact the credit ref agencies and ask for a comment to be put next to the default explaining the circumstances.
You maybe best to post this in the debt forums, for stronger legal advice but i do reckon you will be unable to do anything - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=76Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Thanks, DarkConvict.

Hopefully, things may be closer to getting resolved -- I spoke to T-Mobile tonight and they were so helpful. I paid the £32 and the lady I spoke to has put in a request to have the default removed from my credit check. I'll check in a few days if anything has happened. If not, I might write and see if I can get any further. It sounded promising though and she was very understanding.0 -
The default could take a while to be removed if they do agree to remove it (and i hope they do), as the reference agencies have to be notified so up to about 30 days is allowed for changes to actually filter down.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
