How is it not right? What do you think you should be getting? Your wife will be getting your TC and CB also every week, Plus HIP grant and maybe the sure start grant if you qualify. Plus her maternity pay come time to finish work0

Also don't forget to apply for council tax benefit and also housing benefit if you pay rent.0

OK thanks, maybe it is right.
But I said to the jobcentre I was getting this same ammount when I was single living on my own.
Yes I do get a bit of CTC and child ben, but nothing else.
Is there any help from JSA when you have a child to support and another on the way?
My wife doesnt get any maternity allowence etc, I was the sole breadwinner, now I am unemployed.

The government says that a couple need £100ish (sorry don't have the exact figure at hand) to survive.
Are you sure that your wife is on your claim?
Are the income details correct?
Do you have savings?
Do you have any other income?0 -
I am getting adult only JSA, well is there one that takes into account your kids?
What about Income support for my wife because she doesnt get MA?
Any help appreciated, I just dont know how we can survive on such a small amount. This wont even cover bills let alone food.
This is the first time in my life I am so worried about putting food on the table.0 -
Yoshua if you call the tax credit line you should get more tax credits now that you are unemployed they will back date from day of unemployment, also look at all the benefits related to housing and council.0

To the op providing your savings are under £6000 you should be claiming JSA for couples which is £100ish per week. Your wife cannot claim IS.0

IS is for single parents. The amount the government says you need to live on per week doesnt take into account debts, so you will need to arrange with loans, CC's etc to pay a lower amount untill you get back onto your feet0 -
You should be getting around £30pw extra for your wife, but if you have savings above 16K then you would only qualify for what you are currently getting from the DWP.
It is possible that you accidently completed the claim form incorrectly and did not claim for your wife - phone DWP to check.
Tax credits are paid for children - you will have to speak to them direct.0
