Why do people have a Baby on Board or similar sign in the back of their vehicle anyway ?

Do they think that people are going to go less than 30 mph when they see that sign or suddenly drive more safely or something. If there are 3 adults in the back of the car should I put up a sign saying 3 adults on board.

Also, I hope these people that put up a baby on board sign don't smoke when they are in the car thus causing passive smoking to baby plus danger to themselves and others by not having full control of the car and the possiblility of dropping the cigarette or ash on their lap.

Smoking whilst driving should now be banned as are using mobile phones and eating whilst driving.

Back to the main point though. The sign on eBay is really tacky.
  • I don't find it "yuk". It's more an "Eughhhhhhhhhhh...." for me. Totally understand where the OP is coming from.

The baby on board sign is meant to be incase of an accident (letting the police or fire bridgade know that there is a child in the car that could have been thrown clear.) That is why people should remove them when the child is not in the car.

I'm female - I can fully see where the OP is coming from...

If anyone has seen my female side, can they return it please she's not very good at directions! ;)
  • I'm also female and I think they're a bit pukeworthy rather than cute.
I don't see why so many parents get so worried over the possibility of strangers knowing their children's names from things like this though. In the first place, children should be taught that just because someone knows their name doesn't mean they're not a stranger, and the second place, sadly most paedophiles are known to their victims anyway.
