  • My other half tonite got a letter from capquest demanding a payment of £1,100 for and Abbey account he closed 15 years ago. he has spoken to Capquest who have told him that they don't knnow what the debts for just that they purchased the debt from Abbey. We haven't had any letters from the Abbey and as we are regulars on here my OH haschecked his credit referencing only two months ago from experian and all the others and he owes nothing to noone.
Why are were suddenly recieving this letter or is it a scam?

    any help much appreciated.
STATUTE BARRED. if your husband has had no contact with them for over 6 years from the date they called then they cannot EVER chase the debt because it is statute barred and the limitations act ie 6 years means they can't do anything about it. Ask them to sue you.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

  • Got another of these letters today. It's just the same as the earlier one, only this one is from Santander (formerly Abbey) . Strange...?
