Hi, just a wee point about key safes. They are a great idea, however you have to let your insurance know that you have a key safe as they can be a security risk. Also, if possible, its best to have a key safe fitted somewhere that isn't prominent - because they highlight a potentially vulnerable person (plus they can see where to get key). Just a word of warning. Social services don't particularly like to have them fitted for the above reasons, but like I said, they do work well if they are 100% necessary (ie. if carers need access).

    I didn't know that.

    Thanks for the advice
  • I know how you feel. I remember once being in Manchester on a business trip and just about to go through security to fly home and realising I'd left my over coat hanging on the peg in the office with my car keys (car parked at Edinburgh Airport) in the city centre and it was 5:30pm and my flight left at 6pm !!!!!
Panic- everyone had left the office, eventually got a cleaner on the phone to alert one of the senior manager who was still around who organised a bike to bring my jacket to the airport, it arrived 2 minutes before the gate closed!
I now put my keys in my handbag!!

  • Oooh, hadn't expected to see this thread again! In case anyone wondered, my friends keys travelled back to her by Special Delivery, arriving at her work address the next day and full of exciting stories to tell her about their adventures!

As for who was to blame? Just one of those things - she forgot to ask and I should have remembered too, was just an emotional goodbye (we are very close but unable to live near each other at the moment, and have both had major life-changes).

    All is now well:p
