Orange or O2

Hi, my hubby and i both have mobiles with vodaphone contract. Go to Cornwall a lot where can't get a signal, only Orange or O2. Which is best? Hubby also uses his phone when in Channel Islands about once a month. Other than that we don't use phones very much, hubby requires a blackberry I don't. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

How many minutes and texts do you require? Does your hubby need a data bolt on for his Blackberry? Is it sim only you are after or a new phone as well?

Funny, when i went down to cornwall/devon/newquay i got great signal coverage on vodafone, but my brothers + friends didn't get much on 02 or Orange. Except in the airport where it flipped and i had none and they had full strength.

Have you checked there own outdoor coverage plots?

    Orange - http://search.orange.co.uk/ouk/portal/coveragechecker.html
    O2 - http://webmap.o2.co.uk/?Search=Search

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
  • I have a contract with both networks at the moment, I believe orange customer service is better beacuse if Iv ever had a problem I usually get through to polite staff in the uk, o2 staff Iv found to be rather rude/or not bothered unless you email them.

Signal wise they are the same for 2G but 3G i find orange is better than any network, I usually have full 3G signal.

o2 has better bolt on offers. Iv had contracts with all networks in the past , I find vodafones signal the worst then T-Mobile, and 3 well I didnt have any problems to be honest unlike most people say they do but they dont have the widest choice of phones.

    Thats my opinion.

Not sure which will be the best as a new customer as I have been orange customer for around 9 years now and stick with them only becaus eof the retention upgrade deals that they do. Its hard to get a bargain as a newcustomer unless you go through some kind of cash back deals. Also sometimes when you call the sales team rather than visitng their shops you sometimes get better deals.

In my experience, Orange has brilliant coverage on Polzeath beach. O2 doesnt have any. Around that part of North Cornwall generally its patchy with both of those networks.
  • I think orange is better because if any problem in my phone it is easily solved by staff in the uk, o2 staff is not more so problem is their. Signal wise they are the same for 2G but 3G i find orange is better than any network, I usually have full 3G signal. so orange is better than o2.
  • o2 is best all round i think orange is crappy
