Hi i really need some advice with my firstplus ppi claim ,after waiting 12 weeks i have now had a response saying it wasnt missold ,that i was told it was a 5 year policy and only the first named on the policy was covered ,according to there transcipted i agreed with this ?? These were my main complaints ,i honestly cant remember any of this but at the time we were so desperate for the loan i might have agreed , but even if i did (im now doubting myself) im sure i didnt have it explained to me that we would continnue paying interest for the remainer of the loan . Im so upset as i really thought we had a genuinne claim.Any advice on how to take this forward would be much appeciated . Oh they have also sent me a copy of agreement we signed highlighting the first named is only insured but when ive checked this ive signed first not my husband hes signed in the second borrower box Thanks Sunny

What date was this taken out? Firstplus were GISC members since Novemeber, 2001 so if it was after this date then the FOS should be able to take this on for you and 99% of complaints against FP are being upheld so don't be negative yet. I really think you will be OK.sunnygirls wrote: »Hi i really need some advice with my firstplus ppi claim ,after waiting 12 weeks i have now had a response saying it wasnt missold ,that i was told it was a 5 year policy and only the first named on the policy was covered ,according to there transcipted i agreed with this ?? Thanks for that, it was taken out august 2007 i have just drafted a letter stating at no time was i ever told i would continue paying interest on ppi 5 yrs after i was no longer able to use it and that they have sent me a coppy of the agreement highlighted on it is a statement saying the first borrower is insured only but my signature is in the first borrower box and my oh in the second borrower box and its him who they say is insured
I hope this is reason enough for them to change there mind but im not holding my breath Sunny0 -
If you get no joy after a week or two in this then please take this to FOS are they are upholding 99% of Firstplus complaints. I think you have a 99% chance of winning:cool:.sunnygirls wrote: »Thanks for that, it was taken out august 2007 i have just drafted a letter stating at no time was i ever told i would continue paying interest on ppi 5 yrs after i was no longer able to use it and that they have sent me a coppy of the agreement highlighted on it is a statement saying the first borrower is insured only but my signature is in the first borrower box and my oh in the second borrower box and its him who they say is insured

My understanding is that most of the complaints relate to paying for the PPI once they pay you out. My refusal letter from them referred to the transcript and the paperwork advising this was added, but being no finanicial expert this meant little to me and therefore I assumed my loan would drop by about £100 and I would get a payout.
Hopefully other sucessful claimants will confirm they have had their complaints upheld, but please let us know!!

Go for it gal!!!!!!!
Sounds like we will both hear at around the same time. Hopefully they will have it sorted and not referred to FOS as I really could do with the cheque before Xmas (I'm sure others will tell me I have no chance of getting it though!!

Good luck both of you. I received my letter from Firstplus saying they upheld my complaint 30th Oct yet I am still waiting for my refund cheque!!
But... I'm sure they stall on purpose as people give in don't they if they stall. So keep going with it even if you need to go to FOS.Egg April 10 £6600 Jan £4678 now £0
Santander Jan £3414 April £3338
Virgin April£2643 Aug £3155 April £7109
Barclaycard Oct £1476 April £1287
So far paid off 17% of c.c. debt:T0
