Economy 7 wiring structure.

I've just bought a flat with Economy 7 heating.
I've had a quick look at it and there are two elecricity distributions units in the flat and two circuit breaker boxes on the main block board. I assume that this means that the flat has two sets of circuits; one for normal items and one for the heating system. I also assume that this allows the supplier to know how much was used on each system?
Does the discount tariff apply to all electricity used after midnight(or whenever the switch occurs), or does it only apply to electricity used on the economy 7 circuit?

Great. Do you know why they went to the effort of installing two systems? Is it to keep the heating seperate from the normal electricity ring?Happy chappy0

Yes. Devices on the E7 fuesbox only work during the E7 period.
The other fusebox is working 24hrs.
What you need to ascertain is whether you have a mechanical or radio-switched timer. If it's mechanical you'll need to work out the start/stop times yourself. If it's the other type your supplier will be able to tell you.
Plenty of E7 info on the Utilities Board.0 -
Are the following correct?
Both circuits are billed at the E7 rate during the E7 time zone?
The E7 circuit is just a way of ensuring that the E7 heaters only work at the correct times.Happy chappy0 -
Yes. That's right.0
