I think a lot of schools (not all) don't allow flasks now, as I remember reading a thread in OS about it.
*steps away*A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

good luck op. i think your son should at least be allowed a pack lunch - io would plead poverty, gran needs help or even resort to food allergies therefore he needs a pack lunch if the methods you have discussed don't work. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090

Yes, lying is always the best policy. You really do need these kids to know that rules ain't really rules, innit :rolleyes:I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

I don't think so, its all about the ring of the cash register to them.
Perhaps the school dont want your son to leave the school building as it may start off a small revolt, by getting other parents to write and say they have permission to let their children leave the school.
Funny how schools want to be in loco parentis but when bullying comes about, where are their powers then?
Human rights (from Wiki):
"Human rights are "basic rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled."[1] Examples of rights and freedoms which have come to be commonly thought of as human rights include civil and political rights, such as the right to life and liberty, freedom of expression, and equality before the law; and economic, social and cultural rights, including the right to participate in culture, the right to food, the right to work, and the right to education.""
Note that that's the right to food, not the right to chips with every meal
Best laugh I've had all day though, so thanks for that! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

The school I used to go to has just started this policy, now that I don't go there anymore I'm glad of it as there is swarms of kids everywhere destroying things and fighting. Of course if I was still there I would hate it and can imagine how your son feels. The worst part of it is that the school is being rebuilt and there isn't even a proper dining hall - they have to eat in the science labs!
It's hardly what you would call a 'nice' school, I think soon there'll be a point where they end up leaving the premises by force, a few teachers isn't much againt a huge hoarde of kids... On top of that the chances are that there will be a lot of students and parents unhappy about this, make your feelings clear to the Head Teacher and hopefully when others do the same they will eventually crack into introducing a pass scheme or similar. Worth a try?Male.

the "fundamental right to be free from hunger" - when the op can't afford to pay for the food, the right to be free from hunger would be including the right to eat his own food from home - surely?Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.0 -
I can not see how they can stop you taking your son out at school times. I would lie tell them he has a specific diet and the food is provided at his nan's house as the food has to be served hot.:happyhear YUMMY MUMMY TO HENRY BEAR AGED 10:happyhearslimming world need to get back to target 25lb to goDisney World here we come May 2018:j0

If you are really serious about the issues you are raising, email the school and the LEA with the same email, make sure you keep a copy, if you get a reply, reply back to them by replying on the same email.0

Maybe you feed your kids chips with every meal, a case of judging everyone by your standards or is it a case of "let those without kids cast the first stone"
The OP is not asking for her son to have chips for his meals is he?And yes the lady in the avatar is me
