Ummmm, forgive me for asking, but small child, in a room with lots of other small children, with hot liquid in flask? Is that a good idea?

I was just thinking how good it is to send a littleun with warm healthy soup!

If you dont like your job then dont do it,

where did I say that?
why not teach the parents how to "rear" their kids seeing as you are such an expert,

It's actually a massive part of my job ;)
not all kids are tearaways, some of us actually make an effort to teach our children outside of school

Some of you do, yes. Those that do generally uphold school rules, and don't teach their kids to ignore the rules they don't like/can't be bothered to follow ;)
( and thank goodness with people like you around children).

Have you ever thought kids are being difficult with you because they pick up the negative vibes you are subconsciously giving off, from a scowl to throwaway comments like you have just mentioned, don't take your inadequacies out on the kids you work with, kids learn from example, so blooming well set one.

Why would you assume I am the same here as I am at work?
    RANT OVER!!!!

    Thank £*%& for that!

I dont know what superdooper flask my_gorgeous_ellie_belle uses but after 4 hours the contents of a flask are NEVER hot, lukewarm or tepid yes, anyway

Mine keeps my coffee hot for at least 8, if not 12 hours

Maybe you need to buy a more expensive one ;)

iamana1ias, what do you care seeing as you find kids "difficult" and "brats", do you class your kids as difficult and brats as well???

I spend more than enough time fixing other people's kids. I'm far too clever to want to do it 24/7 :rotfl::rotfl:

With all the kids in the school being compelled to have school lunch, surely theres some room to reduce the price a bit.

Would they cater for someone who only ate Kosher food???? No they would be granted their choice of food on religious grounds.

This thread is all getting a bit 'I make a better parent than you'.

We all have different opinions of what's best for kids, doesn't mean any are right or any are wrong. We all have different circumstances.

Who's asking you to do it 24/7? I'm sure you'd make a bomb by professing to turn "brats" and "difficult" children into angelic cherubs by teaching the parents how to parent, seeing as you know better than they do.

Zoe, i'm not saying a better parent but when you have iamana1ias referring to children in her care as " difficult" and other peoples kids as "brats" i take offence to this, if you want kids to behave you have to lead by example, this includes parents and anyone who has any influence in childrens lives.

It wasn't aimed at you, I meant in general as there are several negative comments from various posters.

minxtress- surely this contravenes some human rights, a right to choose what to eat, not forced to pay for and eat something that you don't like, would the school be willing to prepare something your son WILL eat? I don't think so, its all about the ring of the cash register to them.
Perhaps the school dont want your son to leave the school building as it may start off a small revolt, by getting other parents to write and say they have permission to let their children leave the school.

Funny how schools want to be in loco parentis but when bullying comes about, where are their powers then?

Stripped away long ago, nowadays they have to rely heavily on the co-operation of the parents to keep them under control that's why there is so little discipline in schools these days.
