Do I now have to subscribe to threads individually? Used to be if I posted, I was subscribed, now user CP doesn't show me any of the stuff I've recently posted in, I have to search for it.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

We've been experiencing some slowness on the Forum recently and one of the things we've been able to track it down to is the huge amount of thread subscriptions that we have to deal with, some of which date from the instalation of vBulletin, over 4 years ago.
In the old days, all users were automatically subscribed to every thread they posted in and it's this legacy that's causing us the problems.
So, to solutions:
1. From 10pm this Thursday, October 8th, we are taking the Forum down for an hour to delete a large number of old subscriptions - every thread that hasn't been updated for 6 months of more will have it subs removed.
2. We are going to switch everyone's automatic thread subscription setting to "Do not subscribe". If you want to change this,. you will need to go into your User CP - Edit Options - Messaging & Notification section and change the setting back.
3. We are considering setting a subscription limit to try and minimise the resource this consumes but we'll make that decision after we've done the deletion and see where that gets us.
We hope that this operation will give us back some resource without having any major negative affect on users.
if you have any questions, please let us know.

You need to set this setting again, as this has been cleared in the recent subscription changes.
Go to User CP, Edit Options
Select the Subscription Mode you want & Save
I use No Email Notification.
