  • DD has her's booked in for sunday - she's desperate to prove to her Dad she will love it:rotfl:and he is desperate that she doesn't.

Mixed standards here methinks, Ok for him to ride a high powered sportsbike (fireblade) and for me to ride a mid range one (CBR600) but not for her to want a 50cc - definately a case of "Do as dad says, not as he does":rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Light travels faster than sound - that's why you can see someone who looks bright until they open their mouth.
  • I think I know what you mean (yes I'm doing it now! lol) and the clutch is by the left foot isn't it ?? :o

How long have you been riding VW?

Ive been riding approx 6 yrs, i was 40 this year and decided i wanted to do it before then, and i had put a deposit down on a Harley Davidson so didnt have much choice  :D

Good Luck everyone doing the course :j

Yep OH half is exactly the same with me and wont even let me near the GSXR, but he will use my CB500 when his winterbike is off the road and doesnt want to get his precious one dirty.

I rode round as pillion for years till the guys in the pub (not the hubby, who would prefer I was not riding myself, double standards much !) talked me into learning and gave me the name of a mate who was an instructor and they even went as far as booking and paying for my first lesson as I was faffing about.

That was three years ago and I have to say i've never looked back, I love it it and we go on motorbike tours and weekends away as often as possible... last year was Scotland & Ireland, this year was Vietnam (think top gear challange), next year its Nepal i'm gonna drive an Enfield to the base camp at Everest :D

Anyone thinking about it should definetly give it a go... especially the women, theres not enough of us on the road !
  • Your right there venus, the looks i get when i take my helmet off lol

Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
