    Morning all

Well, I haven't got a hope in hell of catching up with yesterday's thread but I'll try and keep on top of today's.

Yesterday was manic. I reserved a bed at Argos for DD (she's been on a mattress on the floor the last few weeks) before I went to work yesterday morning. Finished as usual about 2pm, got home, ready to go and pick the bed up to find a message on the answerphone. My IT skills were urgently needed at the shop where NN works. So went there and spent four hours sorting their problems out satisfactorily (nice cash in hand job :) ).

Was just about to go out to Argos about 6pm when friend from up the road popped by wanting to use my Ancestry subscription. Told her I was just off out to pick up a bed so she asked if I needed a hand. Bless her. We then got back (DD had gone out) and she helped me put it all together. The surprise on DD's face was lovely when she finally got home. Then friend used my computer whilst I prepared my dinner and before I knew it was 9pm! But the good thing is the cash I earned for the urgent job will be more than I paid for the bed.

I'm hoping today will be a bit quieter.

    Morning all

Just a quick post to say I am keeping an eye on you all and you didn't chat as much while I have been away!
Dusty angel you can still hide in the kitchen with her and 'talk' to her AND swig the champers - i think i would have liked your Nan - and to hell with them its your house and if you want to be sad and honour your Nan then thats your choice. I think I would be making a toast to her - after all if it wasnt for her your MUm, you and your sister wouldnt exist.

I agree totally with toots. This year of firsts is so difficult but you will get there in your own way. I remember just wanting to run away at our first Christmas without DH it felt (and still does :( ) so wrong that life was marching on without him. But I know he is watching us and would want us to have a good time. Obviously it wasn't the same but knowing that it was more bearable. So have a huge hugs from me x x

Could I ask for some positive vibes please for a friend whose daughter has just been diagnosed with a glyoma. After years of trying she is finally 20 weeks pregnant with her first child and until the baby is born they cannot treat the tumour :(

Must remember to waer my poppy for work today. Will be around much later as straight after work we are practising handbells.

Hope you all have a good day.

I had the same problem when I moved in here. Not with H but with the children. Drove me potty, if you'll pardon the pun. And after 4 years of having a DW and then not
In the end I treated myself to a DW off of ebay. I had to spend more than I wanted to as I needed a slimline one. Full size wouldn't fit because of a stupid radiator. Best thing I did though.

  • Morning everyone

Meant to fly yesterday, but then loads of things came up and I did nothing but a quick spot of cooking to make soup from some stock sitting in the fridge. Caught up with the thread last night very quickly and felt guilty!

Today is my study day, and I really *have* to get on with it again. Received a gentle e-mail prod from my rather more senior collaborator on this project asking if I had yet managed to do anything 11.gif .... and really, my progress is very very slow at the moment :o. Am trying to get a paid p/t job out of this, so I can't afford to slip up. Deadline is end of month - finished, reviewed and printed.

Will try to fit in 3 x 1.5hr study periods today reading.gifHStype.gif; and will break off at some point to wipe my desk, keyboard and chairs so that I can claim that bathroom star!

    My list looks like this:

Clear up kitchen and unpack/pack DW
Get dressed, and get everything I need out on desk :coffee:
Reply to e-mail reassuring collaborator that I am getting on really fast.....
    Study x 1.5hrs reading.gif
    HStype.gif
    Coffee:coffee:
    Study x 1.5hrs reading.gif
    HStype.gif
    Lunch HShungry.gif
Clean desk area and do floor etc and claim star! :A
    Study x 1.5hrs reading.gif
    HStype.gif
    Tea:coffee:
Pick up godson from school; also DD
Make dinner, set up spare bed etc for godson's stay
Urgent paperwork - write cheques, stamp/address envelopes of stuff I have already done but not quite finished

Good luck with the flying today everyone, and hugs to those in need
