Hi :j
Hearing everyone getting on with their X**s stuff and the tasks the Pigpen is setting for extras, I have to share a X**s horror story with you (Pigpen, please don't read this if you are on your own):
Artificial Xmas tree that we had when we were first married, decorations made by kiddiewinks (now 31 and 29) - you know the sort of thing - loo rolls made to look like crackers, doves made from folded paper fans, hand decorated paper cones for sweets, Xmas shapes coated in glitter that got sparser every year, the 'cups' from egg boxes wrapped in foil, etc. Some of the tinsel was threadbare and some of the baubles had to go at the back because they were dented. Every year a few more decorations were added and some more tinsel bought. Absolute mish mash of colours and styles. Every year DH complained that the tree would not hold together much longer and I would sigh that a themed colour scheme might be nice..
Anyway, mad rush after Xmas; were were going away and bringing visitors back with us. Beds to sort, cleaning to do, etc. and DH was getting cross because he wanted to get on our way as we had a two and half hour journey to do. I said it would help if he packed the Xmas tree away as we wouldn't be there on 6th Jan. I tootled on with jobs. About an hour later I wondered where he had got to and wondered why I couldn't see any storage boxes (in the garage perhaps???).
He'd only unplugged the lights (which were brand new), carried the tree outside in the rain with all its decorations, stuffed it in the back of the car and taken it to the tip!!! (Medic! Smelling salts for Pigpen!!). All my kiddies' past Xmases!! I wept all the way to my sister's. She collapsed laughing when I told her what had happened so I fell out with her. Wouldn't speak to DH for weeks and only then through gritted teeth!!
So apologies if I get a little bit shaky when Pigpen tells us to sort out our Xmas tree.
Jx
I'm sorry but I may have just wet myself laughing....
We had an awful brush tree.. looked like it was made from green toilet brushes and was hideous.. we did the same... if you can get in my loft I have a broad selection of trees (6 in fact.. gren or white?) and you can take your pick. I keep the childrens treasures in a box all safe from breakages..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I just can't settle to this writing this afternoon. One quick 3/4hr burst more and I could say I've at least done something!
Am really struggling, and I don't know why: I like the work, it's what I want to do and it's not really that difficult.

I want a cup of tea desperately, but am going to force myself to earn it first...:o

Not following the list but very pleased with myself for doing things which I wouldn't normally have done if I weren't trying very hard to reinvent myself!
Thorough hoovering of lounge - including skirting boards and under the sofas. (And cleaning the sofas and picture frames for the second time in a week!)
Thourough hoovering of hallway - including behind the radiator and up the pipes.
Thorough clean of the bathroom surfaces, basin, bath and loo - including tippy toes standing on the bath edge to reach the very top tiles. I even wiped the painted walls down.
Reading through this list perhaps it says more about what a !!!!!! I usually am than how good I've been today!
I'm just off to hoover the stairs - I can do kitchen jobs while I'm doing the tea later ;-)0 -
Hi All
Thanks to Toots for sending me PM. I am just brand new to this so you will have to excuse my ignorance, I have read all the codes etc but have a few questions.
1. As I only joined yesterday, can I start the list from today or would that be silly? I blitzed the kitchen last night and done a bit of putting away folded washing and ironing this morning at 6am!!
2. You all look so mega organised, to me the list looks like a mammoth task as I have a full time job, DD (8) DS (terrible 2's) and a DH who works shifts. Will I get there in the end???!!!
3. Where can I find my previous posts lol!! Thought I had posted this earlier but cannot find it
Think this is the the christmas tree I am supposed to add? :xmastree:
Sorry all for the long post but with your help and plent of bahookie kicking I am sure I will get there!!:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T
