Slightly off topic.....
My daughter started using a high chair a few months ago, but when we go out visiting grandparents or on holiday we find this great!

It is a sort of portable high chair.
On a money saving note, they can be bought cheaper than £9.99 from other companies.0 -
Where do you live? If you're anywhere near Lancashire you can have mine, it was only used about 4 times and cost me £50. It folds, its padded, it wipes easy, all bloody dinging all dancing and the little get refused to sit in it! It has since been under my stairs, if anyone wants it just arrange collection and you can have it!0

I have the Chicco Polly and love it!
When it folds it is self standing, so does not need to lean against anything.
All the straps for harness are removable and can go in the washing machine, they come up lovely.
It is not too heavy if you need to move it around.
It is very stable when in use, a must for my DD who loves to throw herslf around.
As the tray is fully removable it can be used at a large table or independently.
The height adjustments are great - nice and low when I am sitting on the sofa feeding her, or higher when she is at the dining table with us.
Fully recommended!!0 -
I think it depends a bit on your lifestyle and how you will use it.
Do you need a tray or will baby sit at the table?
How old will your baby be? can they sit well or do they need more support?
Do you have much space or will you need to fold the chair away?
Do you like cleaning?
We started off with a Mamas and Papas Prima Pappa: padded, multiple height positions and recline positions, removable double tray, expensive, large.
This seemed quite good to start with but we never used all the special featues and it became a real drag to clean, there are lots of places that food gets trapped and you have to take the cushion out regularly otherwise it gets all mouldy inside.
When our daughter was about 18 months we saw some cheap basic wooden ones in Tchibo http://www.tchibo.co.uk/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/uk/-/GBP/TdUkDisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=xmiHqgPGsnuHrke67GiNzgBTF-aA4q6n3gE=?ProductSKU=0007519 (they've changed the design a bit now). We always eat at the table and this was much better for this and easier to clean. It worked so much better for us so we ordered a second one for our 2nd baby.
We kept the Prima Pappa and used it until baby was about 7 months as it looked a lot more comfortable for a young baby. He is now 8 months and in the Wooden one and his posture is a lot better at the table and he eats better as he can reach his food more easily. The best thing is that all the chair needs is a quick wipe over after each use.0 -

It really depends what you are after in a highchair.
With my first daughter we had the Chicco mama deluxe highchair which was £100 i thought it was ok but it wasn't the easiest to clean and i found that the tray was too high, my daughter couldn't see what was on the tray and it is big and heavy.
With my second daughter i went to ikea and saw one that was £11.99:
http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?topcategoryId=15567&catalogId=10103&storeId=7&productId=53018&langId=-20&parentCats=15567*15659*15667
and if you wanted the tray it is £3.29 extra, i have had it about a year now, when the tray is off it pushes perfectly up to the table, it is easy to keep clean and the legs just pop off so you can just pop it into the boot of the car.
I would Highly recommend the ikea antilop highchair.
I hope this helps,
Good Luck!It costs nothing to be nice...:)

Edinburghlass- there's a certain irony in that comment. Still, should have known the bulldog would prevent attempting to help someone. More so if it involves me. Still, some people have little else to do0

I also love the ikea antilop high chair. Cheap, easy to clean and very practical.
My 7 month old son loves his!0
