If it was standard then I would suggest claiming off of Royal Mail for the loss of the tickets but you can only claim for upto £28 IIRC from them in compensation. QUOTE]

Wouldn't it be better to suggest claiming from Royal Mail? Off of?!? You sound a bit stuttery!
Sounds perfectly fine to me, seems you haven't mastered the quote button on here yet though, surprising considering the spam you spout.

mmcourt, the ONLY way to send tickets is via Special Delivery.

As a seller, it is 100% YOUR responsibility to make sure the buyer gets their goods. If you didn't send them via trackable method, you can't prove delivery, so you will have to refund your buyer.

How did you know that the buyer would want the tickets rather than the refund?? I would have wanted the refund!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Pink, don't forget, the OP would have only been refunded what they paid the ticket supplier, nowhere near the £600 paid by the buyer.

OP obviously didn't have the £600 to refund, so sent the tickets and kept their fingers crossed that buyer would actually want them.

Shot herself in the foot over greed really.

I was also going to add that as the buyer paid by cheque, this is easily traceable to your bank account, so if you don't give them a full refund of what they paid, then they can take you to the small claims court, and will easily win. (Plus you'll have to pay court costs).

To the OP .... I am afraid that you will have to pay back the price of the tickets .... then attempt to claim something back from PO ... which may be difficult, as you didn't get prove of posting.

It is of no relevance. The matter is being discussed on the E-Bay thread as suggested. I didn't profess to be an expert, sorry if you tuned in to my posts expecting a Sunday night solicitor ;)

    Hi,

I didn't expect a Sunday night solicitor .... I just asked you why you asked them how they paid .... which as you admit is irrelevant ...
