3yo refuses to take medicine - any ideas?

Different things worked at different times, sometimes if dd gave her teddy or fave doll some medicine then she would take it herself, we also have wee shot glasses a tiny version of our normal tumblers sometimes she liked that rather than the spoon, sometimes it was pure bribery of say a choccy button
if she had her medicine. I think sometimes an ice lolly helps as it freezes the mouth & numbs the taste bud. It is horrid having a struggle over medicine, but hopefully its just a few minutes & it's worth it if it helps make them better.
I put a pile of oats tied up in a muslin & let that soak in the bath for a while ,squeezed out as much oatmilk as I could from the muslin then gave dd a bath it did seem to soothe her, she was lucky, although she had spot's everywhere, she wasn't madly itchy.Booo!!!0 -
Thanks for all your replies - I now have loads of tricks to use on her!!
She seems a little better today and the spots are drying up quite quickly. Although she has some big nasty ones on her face and 3 just inside her foof which look really sore and are driving her mad:(. Makes me cringe just thinking about it.
Just a waiting game until DS (6) gets it now but he is good at taking his medicine so should be too much trouble!:rolleyes:0
