I was thinking of writing to them to explain the situation, and complain about the arrogance of the issuer. I was also wanting to play them at their own game by stating the facts from the government website above and threatening to go to my own solicitors for advice and maybe telling them that i may contact the national papers etc. what do you all think??0

they needed some help with some shopping.
They managed to shop, get through the tills, without help, so why couldnt they make it to the door.
and you knew this - how,
personally i think youre pulling our plonkers matey and theres
more to it than youre telling us. Time to 'fess up.

Yes, the national newspapers will really support someone without a blue badge parking in a disabled space. Your own solicitor (unless a free consultation) will probably take money too.
Right now the advice given is ignore it. That would be the best plan of action. It will cost nothing and saves any further hassle.
I see disabled spaces more a moral issue. I wouldnt use them at all.0 -

I was waiting for one of these throughout this thread. Please re-read my first sentence.
They had shopping namely some boxes of toys from Toyr r us, and were waiting outside the store for assistance. They were assisted outside with the help of a shop assistant. However, reading your post tells me your a very imaginative person. So now imagine a wheelchair user and her carer carrying some bulky boxes to the car, whilst the driver sits in the seat and watches them stuggle to the car because for goodness sake, shes parked in a disabled parking bay, or maybe you might feel that granny shouldn't have gone out to buy grandkids toys for their birthday in the first place!!0 -

This is your first sentence
am able bodied and never park in a disabled spot as I know they are to be respected for the people who really need them.
But then you go on to do exactly what you said you never do - what.
You didnt need it for the following reason.
:rotfl:You could have driven up to the doors of the place where they were waiting with the boxes. Which would have been far easier than taking a full five minutes (dont think so, disabled spaces are never that far from the entrance doors to park the car then go and get granny and push her all the way back to the car, give over man.:rotfl:
How stupid do you think we are.
I am imaginative, thats why I'm questioning the facts. I can imagine the scenario very well and theres more to it than the OP is letting on.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

ScottishSapper wrote: »As previously stated above - best to ignore it. They will start to issue you with 'Invoices' then chase them up for a while, chances are they will drop it. If however they do the unthinkable and take you to Court then by entering into correspondence with them before hand you are 'admitting it' so would have less of an argument in Court
I totally agree with ScottishSapper, don't contact them at all as it can be interpreted as an admission. This is not a fine, it is an invoice - but you had no contract with them. If you search this forum or look on the forum linked to in my previous post you'll see that ignoring this is the best way forward - they will soon get sick of this moneymaking scam and try it on with someone else. Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

This would still be the case even if he had parked a bendy bus sideways across 19 bays, unloaded a !!!!ed-up rugby team who went into the shop for 20 Marlboro each, and stayed there three hours.
So take your moral outrage and eat it.
