LPA anyone got any info?

Hi, has anyone got any information about obtaining Lasting Power of Attorney? How much should it cost and is it necessary for my very healthy (body and mind) parents in their 80's?

  • Go to publicguardian.gov.uk/forms/Making-an-LPA.htm for a downloadable form and instructions. You can do it free but you must be sure to get it exactly right! I went to a solicitor to do it for me ad it cost £200-ish.

When you register the LPA with the Office of the Public Guardian, they charge £120 (correct in April 2009).
