Ok final dilemma on our hands now

    Travel Cot V Moses Basket?

    http://www.johnlewis.com/230556091/Product.aspx £19.50 moses basket

    http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Travel-and-Pushchairs/Travel-Cots/Hauck-Travel-Cot-Beige(0029874) £29.99 travel cot

We were always going to go with a moses basket and were not sure what to do once Elliot has outgrown the moses basket.

Then when we were in Toys r us yesterday we spotted a travel cot reduced to £30 from £60 and it got us thinking

We could use that for him to sleep in a lot longer than a moses basket, it could also be used as a play pen when he is a toddler, or to pop baby in if I need to shower or something like that, and of course its nice and portable to take with us to granparents etc

    What does everone think?

  • Hey all.

PP hope things have started moving a bit quicker for you! How exciting - GOOD LUCK!!!

I've been out to Pizza Express for lunch - very nice!!!!

Just waiting now to go to my sister's tonight. DH is getting ready for work. I feel as though I ought to spend an hour cleaning up but I can't be bothered still. I'll do the dining room and kitchen tomorrow first thing as I'm making a wedding cupcake tower tomorrow so that needs doing first. The rest will have to wait until the day after!

Maybebaby labour vibes for you and anyone else up there who wants them.
  • Kindof I'd say travel cot, like you said it has loads of uses and you may end up buying one anyway once the moses basket is too small as that doesn't take long to happen anyway. It's worth the extra £10.

I wouldn't have bought a moses basket but we had one given.

Evening everyone PP are you still with us????

Well looks like i've got one bit of the new year sorted, Mum and dad said to just call them tonight so thats one less hurdle for me, and mum invited us all down for dinner tomorrow too! yum yum LOVE mums HM steak pie. Still have no idea if FIL is coming down tonight or not though,

Got my sterilizer today for £10 well chuffed as everywhere else wanted over £20, mum had a look at the prams and i honestly thought she was going to pass out lol

Getting really uncomfortable all the time now with lots of BH that are getting painfull, not sharp pains but dull burning so i think i will be going early this time, But i wish mum would stop mentioning the hospital in front of dad, he nearly came of his chair today when she asked about my hospital bag. Poor man changed color and started to panic as to why i would need a bag, honestly, I had to explain it was just so i had toiletries etc for the birth:rotfl:.

Guess i had better start on the cleaning up, everyone is off out just now so i can waddle at my own pace to clean, hope everyone enjoys their last few hours of 2009.

Can I take this time to thank everyone for helping me threw the past few months, they have been the worst time in my life but i found so much strength through all of yous, not just the direct words of support but the normality of the thread too, Thanks everyone, X

You're more than welcome hun. You have been amazingly strong through the last few months and I honestly don't know how you've kept it together! You've dealt with so much and still managed to get on here and been cracking jokes! You are fab! :D xx

I'm getting uncomfortable now too, feels like my ribs are digging right into me if I'm not stood / sat straight up and my BH are getting stronger, more uncomfortable and longer by the day.
  • Still here

Managed to fall asleep for a bit and have just woke up they are definatly getting stronger but they still aint that bad though, ths is going to be an interesting NYE i can see it now  :rotfl:

Kindof - we went for a travel cot but not so much instead of a moses basket as I'd never planne on getting one. My initial reason was to be able to keep furr ball and baby apart, but like you it has all those added bonuses you mentioned, plus can take it away with us to my Mums and will certainly last longer.

32b - you continue to amaze me with your strength hun xxx Glad you got your NYE sorted in the end.

Mumslave - wow no 4 you lucky thing :D

EA - Id hold off on the electric for now specialy as you already have the manual, if once you establish a routine you think it would be better for you then go for it. But imagine worse case senario and you dont get to use it youd have just wasteed all that money. I have a manual Avent that I got in the sale (havent dared try it tho!), and will see how I go with that first.

OMG Im sleepy already not sure Ill last for the bells, agree it doesnt feel like NY at all.
