PP and aless, i hope neither of you are busy queue-jumping!

Just praying for twinges & waiting for OH to get in from work. He's doing overtime today & tomorrow cos his work offered double time & some street vouchers cos they only asked yesterday so it works out really well financially, but means he's working 9am-10pm today & tomorrow.

Evening all, Could i just ask the ladies at the end of their PG (well ahead of me any way lol) when have your MW appointments been. I just don't think being left the last 6 weeks with no monitoring is right, and it driving me :mad::mad:

Nope, just watching TV and stuff. Nothing interesting here...just the usual tightenings & cramps I've been getting in the afternoons/evenings, but they always die off in the night

3, I had appts at 28, 32, 36, 38, and the next one at 40. But it's my 1st, so I think it's normal to have more appts?

It doesn't sound right to me - I had appointments at 16 weeks, then 25, 28, 31 & 34 weeks, then 36, 38 & 40 weeks. And now i've got an appointment for check-up & sweep at midwife unit at 41 weeks (well thurs). And if nothing by then, they'll book me in for induction around 42 weeks. And I've had absolutely no worries or complications throughout my pregnancy.

You should definitely be having appointments in the last 6 weeks because they check all the normal stuff but they need to be checking position of baby & relation to brim & stuff as well, as well as keeping monitoring the heartbeat etc. They would need to know before full term for example if baby was breech.

And also it's quite important that they check your BP quite often at the end, as that's when you're likely to develop pre-e, etc...I know Scotland's a slightly different system, but not that different!

  • Courgette,
Just wanted to say that I really liked the idea of a 'Under 12 weeks pregnant' thread and wished it has existed when I first found out, as I felt really torn; I wanted to tell the world I was pregnant, but at the same time I felt I was tempting fate by posting on a pregnancy thread so early.

I totally agree with this. I felt like I had nowhere to post cozI didn't want to put my worries on the ttc board where most people would kill to be in my position, and I was too frightened to post on here and get added to the list just incase.

three - it does sound totallly wrong that you have no appointments for your last 6 weeks. Already having 2 kids it's very likely that you could go a week or two early so potentially won't see a midwife again now!
