yeah i might try and get something tomorrow and see if it helps. Im amazed you could figure out what i meant from all my drivel...

yay for a home birth. I havent really thought about what I wanted.... if you need owt fetching during labour LOL just send me a msg with your add etc and I'll politely waddle on round. I dont really know much else that we're near, aside from being near Millbank Road...
Im rubbish with directions though and keep getting confused, but then ive only been here 2 days LOL

Have you tried any of the tips for kicking off labour yet?

You're in the posh end of town (if ANY area of this town could be called that:rotfl:) I'm at the ruff end lol, although there's rougher than where i am :D I'm near Morrisons, tucked away in a little hidey hole.

Not tried any tips really... Not fancying eating loads of pineapple (i heard you have to eat 6 whole for it to even come close to doing anything!)... No hanky panky for me unfortunately , but have heard nipple massage might work so might try that

I might go into town tomorrow and go on the ferris wheel LOL, i went on it a few weeks ago and my sister was almost going into labour for me, she was amazed it didn't set me off, but she's scared of heights and i'm unfazed by it :rotfl:. She thought the height would burst my waters, cos of the high alititude :rotfl::rotfl:

Ooh i wonder if they'll bring the bounty pack the next day for me or something since i'm having a HB (provided all goes well of course).

Had a sign of imminent labour tonight but i won't go into it in case anyone is having supper :rotfl: Could have just been the greasy food i had just now, my system seems to be working faster lately if anyone knows what i mean LOL.

Ohhhhh did you have the runs too??? lol I was ill last night with it.

    MLSL when is your scan??
On the topic of pains, just a warning that feeling like you're going to start your period and getting similar type cramps doesn't mean anything is wrong. It's just your uterus stretching and making room for a baby, after all, there's not much extra space in there! Of course, if you're bleeding heavily or they're really painful, or you just don't feel right about them either way, give your GP a call. I remember that being the one thing that really worried me for weeks and my GP was happy to reassure me if I thought things felt funny.

Totally agree, I still get period type pains which the MW assures me is stretching pains.

Awww Cafc I know how you feel, I do work full time and it is killing me lol, I leep thinking oh god I have 12 weeks left how the hell am I going to cope, but I am afriad I have just turned into a bore on a weekend lol I go to asda and thats it, I have no energy for anything else

I am swigging so much asda heartburn stuff as well lol I always have to swig some when I wake up for the loo in the middle of the night

    Morning all :)

Well I am 28 weeks today and entering my 3rd trimester EEK

    Whats everyone's plans for today?

I have my last flexi day off today :( and I need to make a chocolate cake for work as we are having a section christmas buffett tomorrow, but I did all the chores yesterday so I am planning on chilling out.

I dont know if anyone else has had any experience of this, but im 14 weeks + and although I'd say my morning sickness has stopped (i.e im not vomitting or heaving) I constantly feel like theres a bit of something like food trapped at the back of my throat. I dont feel the need to cough but its almost like that bubble you get just before you know you're gonna throw up...
Sorry if my explanation is the oddest thing ever, its just really annoying me...

    Hi CAFCGirl,

I had quite bad morning sickness with this baby in that if I moved at all i would start feeling sick. Any smell would set me off and I was being sick every morning just after getting up. Even when i wasn't feeling sick, I felt that there was something stuck in my throat but I think that was down to being ill in the mornings and there being nothing in my stomach so there was lots of acid. Eventually my throat healed and I don't get that feeling that something is stuck anymore but some mornings I still have to go sit by the toilet for a bit and i have to eat some breakfast almost as soon as I get up!! I am now 20 weeks and I thought I would stop feeling sick now but obviously am going to feel awful all throughout this pregnancy!

Hope your throat feels better soon!

Arghhhh i hate my gp surgery so much

I am still 2 weeks later trying to get an appointment with the midwife who i am due to see today anyway, i have been ringing up everyday to try and see if there has been a cancellation or not  So i ring up this morning knowing the midwife is there today and i got a right stroppy receptionist who tells me its not her problem they only have one midwife there the same as they have always had ~ funny considering i have seen at least 4 different midwives there!
Told me if i want to complain then to ring the hospital, she said she would pass a message on to the midwife when she gets in and get her to call me but unless the midwife told her herself that i needed to be seen they wouldnt be going out of their way to see me!!! Will sit and wait for the phone call now but i get the impression the message wont even be passed on

On the upside im getting my buggy today :DThis one in black and its only costing me £50 :D:D

Got DD1 off school again as she still has diawoowoo even though she seems fine in herself they wont have her back until she has been clear for 24 hours means she is gonna miss her class xmas party today too :( luckily i didnt remind her about it i know she is gonna be upset if she goes into school and they are all talking about it though :(

Good luck today always and elasti!!! :j

Stay put vibes for jha!!! Hope your ok chick xxx

Ooh while i think of it anyone that has had a baby already what does it feel like when your waters break  With both my other two my waters had to be broken for me when i was in the stage of full labour so i really dont have any recollection of what it was like :o tmi alert the past few days i have been really wet and i have been having to change my knickers like 10 times a day  at first i thought it was wee dribbling :o but now im not so sure

I know i wanted to reply to others but my mind has gone blank so sending appropriate vibes to all :D

ETA Beenie both the girls were late DD1 a week late weighed 7lb 7oz and DD2 2 weeks late was 7lb 1oz if it makes you feel any better :rotfl:
  • Princess, with my first two I thought my waters had broken but when i got to hospital they had to do it for me. With DS however, my waters broke when I was at home. I was just getting ready to go to bed and I felt really uncomfortable, then felt a pop and my waters broke. There wasn't a huge gush, just a bit, then I started having bad contractions and every time I had a contraction, a bit more came out!! Not nice I can tel you. It doesn't sound to me like your waters have broken but then every pregnancy is different.

Hope this helps and I hope you get to see the midwife today!!

Thanks hun! Have had really bad backache coming and going for the past few days too thats the other thing that made me wonder  Why cant all pregnancies be the same so i know what to expect :rotfl:

Midwife has just rang me back and she wasnt very happy with the stroppy receptionist she said she is going to see her now and telling her that she has to squeeze me in for an appointment on thursday and that she is to ring me back asap to let me know the time :rotfl:

    Morning all.

Ugh ugh, seriously had the worst night so far (not EVEN going to mention the #$%#%@# cat). Top tip: if you're going to have spicy food to help with labour, DON'T do it in the late evening - all you'll get is horrid heartburn in bed!  Will do for a lunch next time. Also mind was working overtime as was convinced something was going to "happen" as had been really crampy and getting vague tightenings all throughout the evening. Guess gravity really does matter as it all stopped the second I got horizontal! Didn't help that I kept menopausal-like hot flashes (worse than usual...I get them every night, but last night was really awful).

Absolutely need to bake something chocolate-related today :rotfl:. Have cocoa but no solid choc...hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

    Enough moaning, sorry.

GOOD LUCK ALWAYS!!! EASY LABOUR VIBES FOR YOU!!

    GOOD LUCK ELASTIGIRL!!! MEGA-HEALING VIBES!!

    BIG LABOUR VIBES FOR BEENIE!!!

    STAY PUT VIBES JHA!

    Think that's everyone :p
