  • Here's one for you ladies, How can I go overdue with my baby? lol. My baby is due 21st Aug but I wanted a september baby :( (only because I didn't want it being the youngest in the year) So I need to go 11 days overdue. lol. Apart from cross my legs, what shall I do? ;)

Thanks Somnium, I can't wait to get my appetite back, I'm normally someone who loves their food, I should be the side of a house (well I will be in 6 months, lol)
That list was quite far back, I think it's the most up to date one. I have been lurking for a few weeks, but only wanted to join after my scan.
    Hope everyone is all right

EA - I know how you feel atm, its like I dont wanna go anywhere or do anything just incase. My bag, babies bag, OH bag and car seat are all in the car constantly now. Cant even really make plans either. FIL asked OH to take him into town at the weekend, but as OH said cant make any promises cos I could be in labour by then. Think the truth is he doesnt want to stray too far. Thats the bonus of his work place only being 3/4 mile away, he could be home in 10 min.

Had a chat with OH last night cos he was asking more about this 24 hr urine sample I was collecting. if its all good then no biggie but if I have more protein then I think as Ill be 39 weeks when I get the results they will induce me to be on the safe side, so could have her before the weeks out in that case! Am a bit concerned TBH as urine is still really dark but have drunk loads, and the bottle is almost full..eeek (sorry maybe tmi!)

Not much you can do about that :rotfl::rotfl:

But if baby does arrive in September you might regret it when you get an extra year of a small person following you round the supermarket going

'But WHY does that old lady smell of wee mummy?'

And you will wish they had been the youngest in the year :D

Well with my last one they were going to induce me 10 days over so even in that case you still might deliver in August.

I was going to say though that my current youngest is the second youngest in her year and its not been a problem at all so not to worry. :)

    Hi ladies
D-day is Thursday so have done all of the housework and little jobs that needed doing. Mum and Dad are coming round this afternoon for a cup of tea so that'll be nice and given me something to do. Have been bouncing on the ball, taking the dogs for long walks and various other things to start this baby wanting to get out but no luck so far.
Any ideas about what I can do now?
Also...I really don't want to be induced...are there alternatives?

Keep up all the labour vibes, the ball bouncing and all the other old wives tales- thats about it.

If you do go over and they start talking about induction, remember you don't have to be induced, you can ask for extra monitoring instead. They will check you still have enough waters, check babies heart beat etc. DD Was 15 days overdue and they like you to be induced on day 10 in my area. HTH.

AS above DD was late and instead of being a May baby was a June baby. She will be fairly young in her year group but I don't think it makes too much difference in the long term. In the first year/ Nursery they may not be quite as ready as they are nearly a year younger than some of the kids, but they still do staggered start in some areas and also schools now ease children in very gently, not like when we started and it was just straight in at the deep end.

Personally I wouldn't worry about it as babies and children develop so differently that I really don't think it makes too much difference. Some kids start school not being able to really talk much, others can read and write, all you can do is to support their learning at home and encourage interest without being pushy and they will be fine.
