Feel free to ignore my ranting – this is the short version!

I don’t know if we will make up. I feel she is suffering from some sort of depression or something as she is the most negative person I have ever known. I don’t mean depressive negative, just mega critical, always blaming my dad or someone for illogical things, and never says anything nice about me. There are so many different examples of things she has said/done – it’s difficult to explain unless you witness it. She can’t see it though. She contradicts everything I do and say in relation to H and everything else and we didn’t speak for about 6 weeks during my pregnancy. I have made lots of effort to involve her, but it’s no use.

I have sent her a letter explaining that I love her, but unless she gets help and realises what she is like, we have no future. I can’t have her undermining me or calling me names in front of Holly. It’s ok just now, but when she is a bit older she will notice so what’s the point in having her in her life just now when we will inevitably fall out in the future. It’s really difficult though because I know she is actually a decent person and doesn’t mean to be this way. She just doesn’t see how she hurts me. My dad says she has read the letter and is not happy.

Elle – I am eating a box of Terrys All Gold which I bought for my mum on Monday but ended up not giving her as we fell out!!

Oh Fitzio. I really feel for you, but it sounds like you are taking a stand for the sake of Holly and I completely respect that.

My dad can a miserable ar5e with a terrible habit of saying inappropriate things and I have had to have words with him about it already. Putting you down in front of your daughter (or anybody!) has to be a big no-no.

Stay strong sweetie. You deserve to be treated better than that.
