every time today i;ve sat down to have a bit of a gossip and tell you whats been happening here, either Kian has woke/needed changing/feeding so hopefully now i;ll have an hour so to do that.

Glam-- GETTING MARRIED !!!!!!!!!!!!! woo hoo!!!
    tell me more

Sami- thanks for the quick update before.

mrs moc- that dress is stunning. i remember you posting bout making it!! did you hand sew it all??

mfd- saw 3 different stokkes in manc on Fri. i'm jealous... have told my mum (she works in a charity shop in ireland) that if on the off chance one ever gets left to buy it for me!!

tia- yay for amber.shes really doing well!!

Kian is doing well. Taking all 5oz of his bottle now.. but every 3-4 hours except overnight where 1 bottle seems to do over a few hours.
having his 6-8 week check up next Tues (10th) and having his 1st jabs the same day :( hopefully with the blood tests he had done in hospital when he was born, he wont cry too much. any tips on how to keep calm (for me) and for Kian as well?

Jillie - My HV was here today and said I will get an appointment in the next couple of weeks for Holly's jags. She said to have in some Infant Paracetemol or Calpol just in case as sometimes they can have a sore thigh or wherever it is they get the jab.

Holly was weighed and is now a hefty 11lb 4.5oz!! Tia, if you manage to find the percentile chart or whatever it is, I would be very interested if you could post the link too. Well done on Amber's weight - she is doing very well.

Interesting that loads of people here had small weddings. We only had 36 people at ours too. We were meant to get married in NYC, but DH's father passed away and we had to cancel. In the end, we had it in quite an exclusive hotel here with amazing food, because we weren't having an evening reception and wanted to give the few guests something special.

My dress was from M&S (half price!) and so was my cake, and I drove myself to the wedding. We found an excellent but cheap photographer, got a friend of a friend to do the flowers, and had 1 bridesmaid (dress from Monsoon sale). So we saved money in some areas, and spent money on the meal, the rings, and the honeymoon which were the things that mattered most to us. Neither of us like attention, so it was just perfect for us.

Going back to catch up on today now.

Em do you mean ideas for an engagement ring for OH to wear? if so why? (I hate men with lots of jewelry, anything more than a wedding ring and a watch is too much IMO) :D
cos i want him MARKED :rotfl:
no, in all seriousness, i just think it would be nice for him to have a ring. i wouldnt expect him to wear it with the wedding ring :) he wears a neck chain, does that offend you :p :rotfl:

Farm was cold and we just escaped the rain. Benjamin watched the sheep but in all was a bit non-plussed  he was more interested in the cars on the road!!

Then we went to Lidl and Benjamin sat in the trolley like a big boy smiling and 'hey'-ing at all the old ladies.
we took seth to the zoo last week and he was more interested in looking at the people looking at the animals  the only thing he took any notice of was the giraffes, and he was terrified lol!

not sure if anyone remembers from the preg thread, while I was in hospital I spent most of my time making Cliodhna's christening gown. Her christening was a couple of weeks ago. Thought I would show off her gown ;)

Should you choose to follow Sami's suggestion, just be careful where you put that needle!

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

no needles involved! done one curtain but Jack being a b00ger!

the blankets have little holes at the top & bottom so just thread through the curtain hooks & then curtain ring!

glam, you should look on the weddings board for ideas ;) we are going to the holiday inn for ours, they do a £1000 package, but it is for "big" do's really. the £1000 gets you room hire for the reception area and civil ceremony, a room for the night, dj, meal for 30 and evening buffet for 100. also look on landy bridal, its a chinese site that custom makes dresses really cheap, would probably work out cheaper than monsoon! :money:

i cannot get this effing cat to keep his satellite dish on

My mum taught me a little dressmaking when I was a teenager, so I suppose I had a little training. I've done a few bits over the years and made Darach's christening suit from my wedding dress.
